School uniform companies should expect to be busy at this time of the year and able to cater for the demand !

I ordered my son's pre school uniform from a company online (this is the only place i can order the logo uniform from)

I placed an order at the beginning of August for my son's uniform. In my confirmation email it says please allow 10-15 days for delivery ...great plenty of time i think to myself

No suggestion at this point that there would be any delays on their website

EXCEPT ...it still hasn't arrived. I contacted them last week on their stupid 0870 number which cost me over £20 on my phone bill due to being kept on hold for a long time to be assured my uniform would be delivered on Tues 1st September. Bit late because he has already started the week before this week but anyhow.....now to find that it hasn't been delivered.

The website has now been updated to inform parents that due to high demand there is now a 4 week wait on uniform and aparently all parents were informed to place their order before 10th August.

Mine was placed before 10th August....i have been waiting 4 weeks and still no uniform !!!!

I am beyond fuming.... i have sent various emails which havent been replied to....and i dont fancy having to call them again on their premium rate number to add another £20 to the cost of my phone bill !

Surely as aparently one of the leading names in school uniforms they should expect this time of the year to be busy and be able to cope with the demand or AIBU ??

Yanbu. We get ours through trutex and ordered it in July. Our school gives the new year 7 a full uniform and you order more when you go for the fitting. I wouldn't normally order in july. Ours took 10 days to come.

Not sure if it is trutex you are talking about but I would be appalled if this happened to us. Will have to make sure I order in July next year too.

YANBU Although I am glad DD doesn't require such a uniform. IMHO it should be illegal for a school to require logo'd stuff at extortionate prices (and evidently with crap service).

Yanbu.
Must actually praise ds new high school. They had an open evening at the end of last term. All logo stuff there (on sale in school shop all year), out on display. They look at the kids, guess the sizes (for speed) and you pay at the end of the hall. This includes aprons, ties, PE shorts/shirts etc. the only thing we tried on was the blazer. Kept it all in packets until last week. Tried them all on, sewed his name in when we knew it all fitted.

Blazer and tie are badged. The rest is generic asda/tesco trousers and shirts.

Blazer £35
Aprons £12 (woodwork and cooking)
PE shorts £8
PE shirt £5
PE sweater £10
Socks £5
Tie £5

Roughly, I can't remember now. Less than £100 for the lot.

Listen and learn, other schools!

Its not trutex.

Thankfully we only had to buy a couple of logo jumpers and a logo t-shirt...i also bought the coat as although its not compulsory its a good thick coat and we have quite a walk to school and back everyday as i dont drive so he will get good use out of the coat if we ever get it !

I would have liked him to be in his nice new uniform for first school photos being taken but it looks like now hes just going to have to borrow some other childs uniform for this to happen !

Ive just sent them a very strongly worded email although i doubt i will get a reply !

OP, if you have to phone the company again, have a look on this website for an alternative number that you can call at a lower rate -

www.saynoto0870.com/

I've just used it when my phone had to be repaired, requiring 2 x 30min phone calls to the manufacturer...both free using my landline package Smile

kbbeanie · 03/09/2015 16:43

Thank you !

I didnt know about the alternative number thing and there is an alternative local rate number on there that i can call for them which will be free on my mobile package !! i will be calling them first thing tomorrow morning now !!!

We've had similar. We used to get ds2's school blazer from the school shop. This has now closed as the person who ran it retired. We can now only get his blazer from John Lewis. It is a small independent school.

He is now y9, and his y7 blazer is miles too small. I swear he has grown a foot over the summer. I've been trying to order his blazer for the past 3 weeks, but it is consistently out of stock. I phoned JL -apparently they are having supply problems and the school are aware.

JL has only been supplying the uniform since 1 July.

I can only assume most other y9 parents are in the same boat, as most of his friends are of a similar size now, having shot up recently.
