I've been driving for 2 years now, fairly confident in my own driving, but every time I go anyway in the car I see things that just terrify me. Today I visited Ikea and had a little car pull out on me on a roundabout - I was already on the roundabout and he didn't even stop to give way! Then leaving Ikea it's admittedly quite complicated but a woman in a blue car in front moved to the left hand lane to leave the roundabout so I moved over into the lane she'd just been into, and then she changed her mind and tried to come back into the lane I was already in! Cue the car behind me having to slam on and beep because I'd had too. Then at the next exit where I was coming off, she again decided she was in the wrong lane so pulled to the right causing another car to beep and brake suddenly. I love the freedom of driving but I'm now panicking about going out again ???? i don't think it's irrational anxiety either, it's bloody scary to think that there's people out there that try and turn right on a 5 lane roundabout in the middle left lane ????

I am Smith System trained. We all are. It's an easy system but vastly improves driving by giving you an automatic " cushion " around you due to your road position and gaps etc. Also saves fuel. I do a 50 mile a day almost round trip to work on about 20 quid of petrol by following it and having a REALLY efficient car of course.

Yesterday we had a car turn left into a side road in front of us, after overtaking in the right hand lane.

And a couple of days ago I was on my bike indicating right and riding over to the right of the lane, to turn off the road. The car behind saw my signal and waited, the car behind them decided to overtake all of us. Luckily I saw him in time to abort the manoeuvre, it was on a hill and I never would have got out the way in time. The driver was too busy making hand gestures at the car behind me, I don't think he even saw me on my bike.

Cars doing way below the speed limit on A roads, yet sticking in the middle or far right lane. That really annoys me. If there are only two lanes, you're forced to undertake, all the while knowing they're such a twat they'll probably drive into you.

Can I add drivers who don't put their lights on (headlights or sidelights) when the visibility is poor. I don't think some drivers realise how damn-near invisible they are - especially in a silver or white car, in the fog! Put your damn lights on so we can all see you!

Some idiot came to a stop yesterday on a dual carriageway yesterday to let a car out from a side road!! Thankfully it wasn't busy. I really wonder what goes through some people's heads sometimes.
