To think this is quite rude?

To go on about being an 'old' mum, about 'only being able to have one child' and about being worried about it being unfair on said child, in front of someone your age?

Or am I taking offence where none is intended?

NoMontagues thank you for the correction; I was trying to remember and yes, that was exactly it. I was 28 when I had DD (who is 17) and had a couple of friends over the age of 35 who had that written on their notes. You're also right that it wasn't in the UK.

NoMontagues · 27/08/2015 22:25

lobster I remember finding it hilarious when I was pregnant with DD at 24.

Now that I'm 39 (take that OP's friend) and pregnant with DC3 I think it's outrageous!

Just tell her she is talking bollox! I had my second at 37, a couple of weeks before my 38th birthday and my third at 39, two days after my birthday!

OP, your friend is just silly. 34 is not particularly "old" and she has plenty if time for more children if she wants them. Yes, of course some women may have fertility issues in their 30s, but the majority don't. And if she is pregnant now, why would she expect problems? She is obviously fertile at the moment.

Also, you aren't over the hill yet either.
