You are putting people's emails and IP addresses and passwors on a public forum.

Just stop it, you silly people.

Someone has kindly copied the list without the Ips, emails and passwords already.

The horse has bolted. It's irrelevant now whether every single person here posts the link, its on Twitter, its all over this site, its available easily.
What does it matter how many threads link to it?

The "silly people" Hmm aren't doing anything, because its already been DONE.

TeenageMutantNinjaTurtle · 19/08/2015 10:56

I agree there's no point in asking people not to post it here. I wanted to see if I was on the list so I went to twitter and found it in under a minute.

MythicalKings · 19/08/2015 10:57

Currently you can only get them by finding the site. Posting the link here is irresponsible, imo.

OP posts:
sharonthewaspandthewineywall · 19/08/2015 10:58

Users want to know if they need to worry as their personal data has been breached. Silly people indeed Hmm

AuntieStella · 19/08/2015 11:00

Does the link really have email addresses on it?

I thought it was IP, MN username and MN password.

Also, if a list of just MN usernames has been linked elsewhere, could you say where? There are a lot of threads (some very long) about the incident, and I wouldn't know where to start looking.

MythicalKings · 19/08/2015 11:01

It's not silly to worry, of course it isn't. But someone has gone to the trouble of posting the entire list but has removed the email and IP addresses and passwords.

People can look there.

OP posts:
TravellingToad · 19/08/2015 11:01

I didn't think email addresses were on it??

LauraGrooves · 19/08/2015 11:02

There's no point not posting it here. Anyone with malicious intent could get it easily enough.

You can't pretend something doesn't exist when its out there on the internet.

Silly thread.

UrethraFranklin1 · 19/08/2015 11:03

It's in the papers, its all over FB, you can find the list in ten seconds via google. Get over yourself.

It's not like your IP address is any kind of secret anyway, and if people are using the same passwords for things like MN and anything vulnerable like banking or shopping, then frankly they need the kick up the bum to be more careful!

StanSmithsChin · 19/08/2015 11:03

The e-mail addresses were not on the one I saw that wankface posted on twitter. Just IP addresses, MNN and passwords.

tabulahrasa · 19/08/2015 11:03

Email addresses aren't on it.

MythicalKings · 19/08/2015 11:04

There are a few email addresses.

OP posts:
MythicalKings · 19/08/2015 11:05

How charming "Urethra*. Maybe you need to get over yourself, I have a list with some email addresses.

OP posts:
UrethraFranklin1 · 19/08/2015 11:05

The email addresses are staff, not users.

hashtagwhatever · 19/08/2015 11:07

I haven't seen a list with any Email addresses

MythicalKings · 19/08/2015 11:07

And their privacy doesn't matter, of course.

OP posts:
UrethraFranklin1 · 19/08/2015 11:08

You're calling me charming, when you're telling people what to do, calling them "silly people" what are you, five?

Hmm
StanSmithsChin · 19/08/2015 11:09

And their privacy doesn't matter, of course.

Were they not work e-mail addresses such as [email protected] ?

MythicalKings · 19/08/2015 11:10

I was quoting John Cleese. Sense of humour?

OP posts:
MyNewAccount · 19/08/2015 11:11

The List is irrelevant ... everyone has to change their passwords and anyone that uses the same password / email combo for other sites as they do for Mumsnet should change their passwords. The actions you have to take is the same regardless of being on the list.

The phisher / hacker has posted '3000' passwords but that doesn't mean he hasn't more.

bobsbusy · 19/08/2015 11:12

Silly person here! People are just worried is all.
Some People have opinions.
Some people have facts
If you are not techy its vvvv confusing , my self included. I've found a list on mn of just usernames, mine is not on it, however I know my account has been accessed. Therefore "the list" imo is in accurate.

bobsbusy · 19/08/2015 11:15

Silly person here !
people are just worried is all
some people have opinions
some people have facts
it is confusing especially if you are not very technical like me
I have checked "the list" of usernames on Mumsnet, I am not on it , however I am certain my account has been accessed therefore I do not believe the list is complete.

I was quoting John Cleese. Sense of humour?

Sure you were. Cos "silly people" is a totally recognisable quote Hmm

And I thought you were telling people to take it more seriously and not be irresponsible?

Lets face it, you pompously tried to tell people not to do something that makes absolutely no difference to anyone. Why not toddle off to site stuff if you want to pontificate more about the situation?

MythicalKings · 19/08/2015 11:37

Sure you were. Cos "silly people" is a totally recognisable quote

Of course it is to thousands of people. I wrote in haste but probably shouldn't assume everyone is a Python fan.

I was trying to ask people not to keep posting the link with a wry sense of humour. I forgot a lot of people just don't get dry humour.

I'm very amused at you calling me pompous. Try toddling off and looking in a mirror. You also have me beat on pontificating.
