Posting my very first AIBU in support of a friend, as her gorgeous wedding dress has been lost She took her wedding dress into Johnson's dry cleaner's concession inside her local Waitrose (Ealing). It arrived at their central cleaning do-dah and she had a message from them to say it would be ready in six weeks...

8 weeks on and customer services are denying all knowledge. No wedding dress, no idea where it is, and no plan to find it. Doesn't quite tally up with their fancy claims about their Bridal service on their website! I would guess it's long gone unfortunately.

An item as large as a wedding dress cannot just be lost like that. Most likely someone pinched it.

My guess is that the dress has been transported to another branch of Johnsons or the tickets have fallen off so that there's no way of knowing what shop the dress is to be returned to. I used to work for Johnsons years ago. Shite company.

Maybe there's a Johnsons employee on here who could help look, if we keep the thread bumped someone might be able to step in

The twitter page linked above says yesterday that they found the dress.

Found, we believe - awaiting the dress actually showing up (supposed to be Monday). We have everything crossed that it appears, is the right dress and is undamaged!
