aibu to go home (unwell, may be TMI)

Felt unwell/unsettled (stomach wise) this morning but had a job needing doing 1st thing so headed into work hoping I'd settle down

Been to toilet 3 times in last hour and a half plus almost been sick (wrenching but not actually sick)

Got terrible gas (no subtle toilet visits for me today Hmm ) and diarrhea

Reason I'm asking aibu is I have done what I NEED to do today so would have nothing to 'put onto' other team members having to cover BUT my manager is off today and I'm the one in my team who knows the system we work on best (not boasting just saying I could answer more queries which would usually be aimed at him/her that team mates) so feel is be leaving them in the lurch in that sense

I am office based and have no meetings with anyone external today

Giving everyone else the runs would be worse. Go home

FarFromAnyRoad · 17/08/2015 11:59

Would be much better if you went home - nobody's going to thank you for spreading it around! Can you be contacted by phone if anything urgent turns up?

crazykat · 17/08/2015 12:04

Go home, no use spreading whatever bug you've got to the rest of the team.

They could always phone you if they need any help with the system.

MrsBobDylan · 17/08/2015 12:16

Bloody hell, go home! Hope you feel better soon.Flowers

Peacheykeen · 17/08/2015 12:20

Go home ! Get well soon

UrethraFranklin1 · 17/08/2015 12:33

You're not that important that you're worth giving everyone else the squits. Go home, you shouldn't have gone in in the first place.

westcountrywoman · 17/08/2015 12:54

Go home. I'd be very cross if someone brought D&V into my office. Yuk.

TheRealAmyLee · 17/08/2015 12:59

Go home before anyone else gets it. They can call you at home if needed.

happymummyone · 17/08/2015 13:18

Go home, these things spread. And you'll feel much better being able to recover at home. Feel better!

sharonthewaspandthewineywall · 17/08/2015 13:35

Go home fgs. I have IBS and a bug can make me really unwell. Think of others.

wtfisgoingonhere · 17/08/2015 13:46

I'm home

Feel the need to ask sometimes as I work with some very judgy people who think less of 'weak' people who go home poorly and stealth boast about clean sheets for 6 million years (despite coming in coughing and spluttering and winging the whole time and when they are ill)

Yup seeing it from someone else's pov makes me see sense (not sure if I'm contagious as have had undiagnosed (they can't give diagnosis, not self diagnosed from Dr google) ibs type symptoms before, but still not worth risking

fingers crossed hubby is ready with a Brew
