To Be Sad That Glee Is Over?

I know it had its ups and downs and it totally lost its way after the sad death of Cory Monteith. I know it was often preposterous, what with the psychopath Sue Sylvester being allowed to run a school and the constant reappearances of the original New Directions along the corridors and in the auditorium of William McKinley High School. I know that story lines and plots were started and dropped, with no explanation, within the blink of an eye. And I know that dreams don't come true the way they did for all of them, in the end.

But I loved the mixture of singing and comedy and great characters. There, I've said it. Adios Rachel, Kurt, Sam, Blaine, Will, Mercedes et al. And a special goodbye to Principal Figgins, my very favourite. My hands are tied is now a catchphrase in our house.

I watched every episode. I watched it out of habit though once the orginal class went to new York.
I was a proper gleek for the first few series.

I did cry at the last two episodes and perv over Puck as usual

It's not to everyone's taste but I loved it in its time and i was a little sad last night.

did anyone else have favourite couples? was anyone else that kind of fan?

nothing to see here Grin

bruffin · 14/08/2015 18:54

My favorite bit of all time is Puck and Beast singing Mean.

I'm a massive glee fan but have watched the final season out of a weird sense of duty rather than out of enjoyment

I thought the penultimate episode last night was very well done but the final episode was just dire

MagicalMrsMistoffelees · 14/08/2015 19:31

Fauchelevent Kurt and Blaine of course!

Though when Finn told Rachel they were 'endgame' you could tell it was about more than just the characters they were playing and the chemistry was real!

YANBU at all. I love Glee, although after season 4 finished and all the new cast members arrived I kind of lost touch with it. I didn't watch season five when it originally aired but i bought the DVD and have just finished catching up with season six. For me it was about the characters but mainly the music, which I frequently found myself getting lost in, so I will miss it.

Mrsjayy · 14/08/2015 19:36

Mrsjayy · 14/08/2015 19:38

Was there 2 episodes last night we have a recording clash on a thursday and download it

Rainicorn · 14/08/2015 19:51

I watched the last two episodes this morning when DH took the DC swimming. I cried at the end of the penultimate one when Finn was singing Blush

I loved the first few series, they just got silly after that, but still watched them in the hope they'd become good again.

The last episode was so silly.

MrsJayy, there was 2 episodes

PiperChapstick · 14/08/2015 19:54

If it had kept the strength and genius of the first 13 episodes it would have been legendary. Although I did enjoy the last series. I've not watched the finale yet, it on Sky+ box, but I'll be tremendously sad to say goodbye to it. I've loved it and like a pp said its empowered so many young LGBTs

Nanny0gg · 14/08/2015 20:19

Well I'm probably older than most (all?) of you and I loved the singing (and the dancing - Mike and Brittany were brilliant).

I agree with everything that's been said about the ridiculous storylines as it went on and the way characters appeared and disappeared without any explanation.

But I still really, really enjoyed it. And I've just watched most of my favourite clips on Youtube again. Just as I like to do with all the songs in Pitch Perfect.

Magic.

Mrsjayy · 14/08/2015 20:29

Thank you i will download both. I loved Mike and Tina i loved puck and beasts mean santanas Valarie and blane andhis brothers ? Somebody i used to know those have been my favourite off the top of my head songs

Mrsjayy · 14/08/2015 20:34

Oh Kurts I wannna hold your hand when Burt had a heart attack i sobbed there was tears and snot

Mrsjayy · 14/08/2015 20:35

Yes loved Mike and Brittneys dancing.

Rainicorn · 14/08/2015 20:44

I loved the fact Rachel was being a surrogate for Kurt and Blaine.

Tanaqui · 15/08/2015 18:55

That was my favourite bit too bruffin!

I wish they had done something with puck, bieste, Quinn, Tina and mike in the finale. It lost it a bit for me when it became too slanted to rachel and they didn't develop the new glee members- actually they did a better job of hat this series than the last two!

The plots were always mad and inconsistent, but it did have charm.

LaurieFairyCake · 15/08/2015 19:00

I stopped watching it after Cory Monteith, I was just too sad.

I'm going to watch the rest of them now time has passed.

Mrsjayy · 15/08/2015 19:55
