In a lovely gift shop with my 10 year old who is scrolling though one of those gift card holders that "spins around". He then LOUDLY reads to the store -

patient: "Doctor, every time I sneeze I have an orgasm"
Doctor: "what are you taking for it?"
Patient "pepper!"

AIBU in thinking this was a bit on the rude side to have at waist height, front and centre on "one of those spinny card things"?
Or am I just a prude?

Well...he's ten...he'll have heard worse in the playground! Nothing wrong with the joke....it's a crap joke sure but it's not racist or sexist.

Get pissed off at the sexist mags on display rather than the stupid cards

Grin

I can't get upset over it tbh

FarFromAnyRoad · 11/08/2015 15:02

It would only upset me from the point of view that it's 40 years out of date and about as funny as stepping in fresh cat shit with bare feet after a hot bath!

ollieplimsoles · 11/08/2015 15:03

I would have pissed myself laughing and made a sharp exit actually op Grin
leaving 10 year old in there

AuntyMag10 · 11/08/2015 15:04

He's 10! Have a chat with him if you haven't already.

wishingchair · 11/08/2015 15:04

Crap joke but not unreasonable. And yes, he'll have heard far worse in the playground. If you haven't already talked to him about sex, masturbation etc, I'd make a start Smile

skinnysoyvanillalatte · 11/08/2015 15:05

Arrgh, I knew it!

  1. I am more of a prude than I thought
  2. should have left him and pretended he "wasn't with me"
  3. think I will avoid blackpool or any other seaside resort with various rude blow up items

Before he gets his education courtesy of the Internet!

ymba · 11/08/2015 15:15

Can someone explain the joke to me please? I genuinely don't get it.

BestZebbie · 11/08/2015 15:17

ymba: usually 'what are you taking for it' suggests a medicine to cure an ailment, in this case the patient is actually trying to make themselves sneeze more (and have more orgasms) by inhaling pepper.

mygrandchildrenrock · 11/08/2015 15:18

ymba the patient is taking pepper to make them sneeze so they can keep having orgasms!

mygrandchildrenrock · 11/08/2015 15:18

crossed post!

ymba · 11/08/2015 15:25

Thank you both for explaining. I'm often the killer of jokes as I have a very literal understanding of things.
