To feel sick (literally) when I hear the phrase 'meal deal'?

Not for any other reason than there are too many 'ul' sounds together? Anyone else get this? Is it a thing?

I think you are, in the nicest possible way, a little odd

not with that phrase but the word pucker used to curl my toes.

I have the same thing with certain sounds, e.g. people eating with mouths open. Not with words though.

I HATE the word meal. So much. "Ooh lets go for a nice meal". Bleugh.

Meal deal is horrific. Too much horrible sound for me to deal with.

It just makes me think of slightly naff food accompanied with "your choice of chips, jacket or mash, garden peas and half a tomato"

I hate the word 'meal', but I don't mind 'deal' on its own

'Did you have a nice meal?' = gross

'Did you get a good deal?' = fine

I think it might put me in mind of mealworms, or great bins of animal feed.

I had a boyfriend years ago who would add meal to every food description. "I had a pasta meal" ."Would you like a pizza meal
?". Oddness which was a sign of further oddness to come ...

I hate "meal". I remember this really lame guy, a friend of an ex, who swooped in after we broke up and tried to woo me with the words "Let's go to the pub after work. I'll treat you to a meal". I cringe now just remembering it. I hate the word meal, I hate the phrase "treating someone to something". It just sounds sticky, smarmy and really common at the same time. Yuck, yuck, yuck!!!

No problem with meal deal or moist gusset. Agree that pucker is vile though.
