AIBU?
To just not get these vloggers? YouTubers? Whatever they're called?

DD (13) is currently glued to Tanya Burr videos on YouTube and also loves watching Zoella, Sprinkle of Glitter and so on. I've watched a few of the videos (to make sure they're suitable and to try and show an interest) and while they seem like nice people, my God this whole vlogging thing is just so vacuous and self absorbed. The make-up tutorials are OK but a lot of it just seems to be 'here's a video of me doing normal day to day stuff that everyone else does' and talking quite annoyingly about it.
AIBU to despair at the self obsession of that generation or am I just getting old and cynical? :)

yep, addictive but not for long. tanya Burr is quite possibly THE most vacuous airhead I have ever seen on youtube but by god is she clever with it and has made herself a tidy living from it. You can't blane them for filling a gap in the market.
Pure drivel most of it. If you want decent make up tutorials watch the pixiwoo sisters

Well Zoella is a millionaire so has done quite well.
I must admit I quite like her hair tutorials.
Dd is a keen Vlogger and has a couple of YouTube channels. Keeps her busy! . I'm hoping if it takes off she will make millions. Hers is all gaming and unboxing unicornos.
