Mine is snoring now. I've prodded, poked etc but to no avail

Mine is sleeping downstairs on an air bed (I am pregnant, have SPD & sciatica) and the silence up here is bliss, I went down for water and between him and the dog I'm surprised the walls aren't rattling!

It is slightly better than last night as we had my 11 yr old DNiece staying as my DH had promised her a Harry Potter film marathon. whilst her mum and dad had a night out

With her snoring in the spare room and DH in ours I was slowly losing the plot

We were in a hotel last week, me and DH in one room, DC x 2 in the interconnecting one. Between the children talking in their sleep, him bouncing me across the bed every time he turned over (never again will I lament that our superking bed takes up our entire bedroom at home) and him snoring /sleep apnoea-ing through the night, I thought I'd lose my mind. Much sympathy, all posters.

YABU. It's not very nice to blame him for something he has no control over.

If he refuses to get help, or to try anything to help, then YANBU to be insist on action or separate rooms.

Apparently my DD can hear my snoring over the TV when she's watching it downstairs I've recorded myself snoring and it is truly horrendous but when I mentioned it to my GP he pretty much shrugged his shoulders, said my neck wasn't fat and told me to find a speech therapist for exercises (which I can't afford). Sometimes it's difficult to know what to do that will actually stop the snoring.

That won't fix it! He would have to chop his head off. The noise is generated from further down, in the nasopharynx and oropharynx.

Tonguebiter then your GP is shit. Your neck doesn't need to be "fat" to be to have sleep apnea. Suggest you seek a second (or third) opinion.

Might not be sleep apnea either. Could be all manner of things. Don't just accept it as something you have to put up with!

I've not picked up any apnea-like sounds on the nights I've recorded myself just the thunderous snoring but I'll have a chat with a different GP and see if they can suggest anything.

Is it any better if he sleeps on his side? I can't wake my husband but if I move his arm over in the direction I want him to move and hold it in a position that's uncomfortable he'll follow it by rolling onto his side and often stop snoring. Or you could get him some of those strips to stick on his nose, I've never tried them so I don't know if they work.

I've had 3hrs sleep thanks to DH snoring no idea why it was so bad last night but my god I considered smothering him. He's usually pretty good at turning over when prodded or I say his name but not last night can't wait for him to go to the gym/work and I can get back to bed.
