Miffed that somebody has taken my mnn?

I know first world problems and all that but it doesn't feel right that there is another Regina out there for all but one letter. Then to be lied to about how long they have had it (thank you AS).

Totally prepared for lots of YABU get over it sad lass type posts. It's just that I like my nn and now I will have to change it.

How long have you had the name OP? Sorry can't be arsed to AS

NickiFury · 09/08/2015 18:45

Grin What a ridiculously OTT post.

ProjectPerfect · 09/08/2015 18:48

And what was the response to your request for them to name change?

Tbh unless you have had the name longer and post at least semi regularly and your doppelgänger told you to fuck off in response to your polite request then you are being unreasonable and disingenuous

MrsGentlyBenevolent · 09/08/2015 18:50

I'd be miffed as well. My nickname isn't original (very few things are these days), but if I had gone for this name, found it was taken, I wouldn't have done a variant with only one letter difference. Quite lazy, and obviously someone on here is already known by the name (whether it's current or not). Yes, it's a petty complaint, but not totally unreasonable.

Totality22 · 09/08/2015 18:54

Maybe she didn't nick your name OP? Maybe she had pretty much the same "orginal" username in mind?

The first name I tried and a few variations were refused as I assume they are already in use?

Stokes · 09/08/2015 18:56

Aren't there at least 3 ReginaFalanges on every forum?

LazyLohan · 09/08/2015 18:56

If you pick a name from the most popular TV show for a decade other people are going to have similar. Especially if your version is misspelled.

When I choose my names I check to see if the one I wanted has been used recently if not then it's up for grabs. It's not hard to do.

Reginafalangie · 09/08/2015 18:58

I have had this name well over 3 months and I am quite a prolific I poster in certain topics.

I get that I am being ridiculous to be miffed and I suppose this thread could be seen as attacking another poster. Not my intention by the way I was just well....miffed. Your points have been taken on board lazy

No rep,y to my pm as yet.

So any ideas on a new nn?

You've had it 3 months?!!

Oh get over yourself.

springsprang · 09/08/2015 19:08

3 months?? Hardly established is it? Someone chose a name similar to my original nn that I'd had for a few years, I changed. It's not really a thing, and it's a bit rude to start a witch hunt over it.

Reginafalangie · 09/08/2015 19:09

Me woo woo I clearly care. I started a AIBU thread which I never do as I care so much about my misspelled nn.

Maybe I have become too attached.
Maybe it is about time after 3 months that I should let go.
After all regular nc is better to combat being identified.
Maybe just maybe this was the push I needed.

C'est la vie Reginafalangie.

It makes a change for someone to want to keep their name doesn't it? I thought hourly namechanges were the way to go lately.

I think it's poor form to start a thread making a dig at another poster as you are op. Especially when the premise for the thread is so ridiculous tenuous.

I've never heard of either of you.

Noodledoodledoo · 09/08/2015 19:11

I have just done an advance search on the persons user name you questioned in that post (am avoiding clearing up the garden) and she has posts dating back till 2008.

Reginafalangie · 09/08/2015 19:12

Been here more than a year just nc due to outing. In all that 3 months I have never come across another Regina which was so similar so forgIve my nativity in thinking I was the only one.

I stand corrected.

OP posts:
slithytove · 09/08/2015 19:12
Grin 3 months? Think you are being silly op. Especially with something so easily chosen. Considering the popularity of the origins, it wouldn't be my first assumption that the other Regina has sinister intentions.
MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 09/08/2015 19:13

Pfffffffft Hmm

Reginafalangie · 09/08/2015 19:13

Incorrect spelling due to that's how I put it in. I had no idea of the correct spelling Mayz
