To be annoyed at food portions sizes everywhere?

They're too small, not too big!

Twice in 3 days I have bought ice cream for my dd from different establishments. The options were '1 scoop' or '2 scoops' (or more probably!). Dd only has a small appetite and at the first place (where I've been before) I asked for a small scoop. But no, the assistant insisted on piling it on even though I said it was enough.

Same thing happened in a park cafe a few days later. It's messy to eat and wasteful when she can't finish it.

Surely '1 scoop' means just that? One scoop seems to mean 2 scoops and '2 scoops' is 3 or 4 scoops!

And not just ice cream. At some restaurants portions are so big I struggle to finish them. Is this why we're supposedly getting obese?

Sorry that should say 'too BIG, not too small' Blush

Some portions are just daft. I went to a pub recently where a veggie lasagne was served with garlic bread and chips and salad. Who needs all that? Curry with rice and chips and naan again, SO much carbohydrate. It's really daft.
I can't imagine the waste in some places too. Even worse when you think how many people are using food banks these days :(
