I sent a query to Apple about my Apple ID information. I've just got what I suspect is a standard response which includes the following:

"I know how important it is for you to have this addressed right away. I will guide you with the information to reach out to the appropriate team to get this issue addressed. ".

Really? It wasn't that important for me to have it addressed right away, telling me that they will "guide me" just sounds patronising, and I have no intention of "reaching out" to anyone. I may phone them, however.

I suppose it's grumpy of me and I should be pleased that they are trying to help, but honestly I would have been fine with a brisk "Thanks for your inquiry. I think the quickest way to resolve this issue would be for you to telephone XXXX Department, this is their number." Or, even better, "I have contacted XXXX Department who have resolved the issue by ...."

Love that diagram. Just sent it to some colleagues. Our manager has worked in the us for years and is always 'reaching out' to ask us to 'catch up' 'reference our deep dive into innovation going forward.'

No joke the last bit is a quote.

Not to do with wank-speak but my Windows 10 upgrade really irritated me yesterday by telling me that "this will take a while" and that I should "sit back and relax".

Err.. Fuck off Windows, I'll do what I like thanks, you patronising bastard. It just so happens I have loads of non-pc based activities I can be getting on with.

I am now humming the Four Tops song!

Ugh Susan the 'press the flesh' phrase gives me the heeby jeebies I dislike it even more than 'low hanging fruit' which always has me picturing pendulous balls.

YA sort of BU. I phoned Apple yesterday after noticing an accumulation of £140 odd worth of iTunes purchases on my account that had nothing to do with me. The person who dealt with me was similarly effusive in her response but I could have hugged her when she readily offered to refund me the full amount (despite her discovering that my 15 yr old son was the culprit). As long as their gushing manner is backed up by their actions, it's ok with me!
