Company cross I've looked at another company offering same service.

Ok occassionally we use the service of a company. No contract with them and just use as and when needed. The company is around three miles away and I don't drive so it's hard work to get there.

A company offering the same service has opened a few doors down from where I live and I enquired on social media. When I then used the original service as already booked in they were quite off with me about it as they had seen the post on social media and questioned me over it.

I went to the new place to enquire and the new place were also aware somehow that I'd used the other place.

Aubu to think they are being unreasonable and I can use whoever I want!

You can use whoever you want, but if you go and mention it on social media, then they will know. It doesn't sound as if you have a lot of choice, but if you don't like the way they have reacted, don't use them. Some businesses can pick and choose their customers, just as we can choose to use them or not.

Up to the original company to make you want to continue to use them. I'd be cross to be challenged for enquiring on social media, would put me off them.

I could understand them asking if there was a reason you were looking at another company to find out if they weren't meeting your needs and if there was anything they could do to keep you as a customer, but it isn't great to be off with you about asking about another company.
