Filthy swimming pool

I'm not sure whether IABU or not! We've just been to a localish public swimming pool for a 'fun swim' (whose fun I'm not sure!). Whilst the DC appeared to enjoy it, I had to go in because one of mine is under 8.

I couldn't believe the amount of 'stuff' floating in the water. It made me feel physically sick as I kept fishing bits (and not small bits either) out of the water and putting them on the side. I certainly wouldn't want to do a 'proper' swim in there in that state.

Is this usual for a summer holiday or should I tell them?

No the life guard should be scooping them out

Yeah I've experienced this in a public baths! I'd imagine the water is safe though, because of the chlorine. You could leave feedback on it, as it is still unpleasant.

Yuk! I would complain to the manager.

Thank you all. I wasn't sure whether it was because it was the holidays and that's what happens now!

I'll pass my comments onto the manager. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful so I hope it'll be ok.
