To find it so hard to find wide pine floorboards

I am soon starting a house renovation and I am looking for solid pine floorboards. Anyone have any advice on good value places to buy this? I am looking for wide boards which I will oil with a pale stain (Scandinavian look).

Do you want brand new or reclaimed? Architectural salvage firms would probably stock reclaimed ones.

If you want the old wide Victorian boards you are going to have to go to salvage yards. I looked for them when doing our house and could not find them new in any builders/timber yard.

They are not cheap and will probably be stained already and so will have to be stripped.

I wanted new I think as it's such a big space, I'm not convinced we would get enough uniform boards at a rec yard. Plus we are on a tight budget so I am mindful of cost.

I don't think reasonable solid pine floorboards are available. Try engineered, they are more durable anyway. I went with quickstep m.quick-step.co.uk/floors/hardwood and I love them! I got the extra long wide dark oak one!

I found some on ebay. They looked really nice. They were old pine boards from a school I think and were about 9" wide and they had loads. I've just looked for the link on My Ebay but I've deleted it. Sorry.

How wide?

How is this an AIBU?

The words unreasonable and floorboards don't seem to sit well together.
