On mumsnet you just can't please everyone so it doesn't bother me how people open the thread.

MaryBerrysEyelashes · 28/07/2015 14:37

Do women really say that to each other, is my point?

MaryBerrysEyelashes · 28/07/2015 14:37

Cocolepew · 28/07/2015 14:38

I prefer what's up bitches.
But either would do.

screamingarmadillo · 28/07/2015 14:38

I immediately think it's a man. Or a Forever Living distributor.

KinkyAfro · 28/07/2015 14:39

Doesn't bother me at all - prefer to girls which is what we women at work are referred to.

And I am a lady Grin

MaryBerrysEyelashes · 28/07/2015 14:40

TheHouseOnBellSt · 28/07/2015 14:41

I want to be addressed as a lady...that's what I am after all...

ONLY KIDDING!

YANBU of course.

The5DayChicken · 28/07/2015 14:41

I am most certainly not a lady, so being mistaken for one is a refreshing change Smile

Henceforth, I'm going to start mine:

'Yo' bitchez'

EponasWildDaughter · 28/07/2015 14:48

I always think it's a male poster if it opens like that.

roundandroundthehouses · 28/07/2015 14:49

It sounds false to me - like someone's received idea of how you're meant to address a group of mothers. Sometimes it's just because they're used to the lingo of a different forum. But it's used often enough by journalists, goady fuckers and people selling you something that it doesn't warm me to the person, put it that way Grin.

WorraLiberty · 28/07/2015 14:50

I just assume it's a typo.

Sparklingbrook · 28/07/2015 14:55

Always cobblers IMO, and yes I always assume it's a male with an agenda or a big stirry spoon.

roundandroundthehouses · 28/07/2015 14:55

I reckon it's the direct equivalent of the flyers you find in libraries. "Calling All Teens age 14-16!!! Wow your mates this summer with cool digital art skillz!!!"

ouryve · 28/07/2015 14:59

I usually expect them to tell me about a forgotten inheritance from a long lost Nigerian uncle.

firesidechat · 28/07/2015 15:02

I immediately think it's a man. Or a Forever Living distributor.

Me too I'm afraid, especially if there are other things in the posts which set off alarm bells.

Never thought it might be a Forever Living rep though. Will look out for that one. Grin

ChippyMinton · 28/07/2015 15:03

Also ones that start: So...

magicstar1 · 28/07/2015 15:03

It always makes me think of Kevin and Perry trying to chat up girls

MrsBertMacklin · 28/07/2015 15:04

I've learned to heed it as a warning sign of a troll, usually of the horny amateur male escort type.

shadowfax07 · 28/07/2015 15:04

It really doesn't bother me at all. Although knowing that there are men on mn, it does seem wrong to exclude them.

Gottagetmoving · 28/07/2015 15:05

Friends of mine say 'Hi Ladies!' when they all meet up, or 'Hi, Girls!'
I hate it.
