To refuse to buy condoms

So basically dh and I thought we were infertile. Surprise dd proves we're not. I don't want to go on the pill (have pnd at the moment, think any more hormones would not help). DH is happy to have vasectomy, so long term plan sorted. Short term, we'll use condoms. I think he should get them, he wears them and I think he'd make a better choice. He says just get any.

AIBU to feel weird buying them? Or should he be buying them?

Cheers

You can get them in bulk from eBay, too (new, obviously!) Pretty affordable on there.

LurkingHusband · 27/07/2015 09:54

Amazon deliver them discreetly. And you can read the reviews ...

WorraLiberty · 27/07/2015 09:57

I think he should get them, he wears them and I think he'd make a better choice.

Why do I have a mental image of him in the chemist, trying them all on? Grin

Dynomite · 27/07/2015 10:11

I always buy the condoms because I have my favourites :) he doesn't really care but, for me, I've found some feel better than others.

Mousefinkle · 27/07/2015 10:16

Buy them online if you're really THAT conscious but honestly people buy condoms all of the time, the cashiers think nothing of it. You're being weird Grin.

LurkingHusband · 27/07/2015 10:29

the cashiers think nothing of it

Not quite true. Last time I bought some (in Boots) the cashier pointed out there was a 3-for-2 offer (I had 2 boxes) on that range. When I thanked her, she commented "it's a good offer isn't it ?" without a trace of self-conciousness. Quite a surreal moment for a 40-something man to hear that from a teenager. My, how things have changed !

Allbymyselfagain · 27/07/2015 10:32

How about getting them from theyfit? Online, individually made, fit perfectly. My ex loved them as most condoms only come in a couple of sizes and widths. Also you can bulk order and discreet stage....

Allbymyselfagain · 27/07/2015 10:33

Worra! Grin Now I have that image too thanks.

WorraLiberty · 27/07/2015 10:43

You're welcome Grin

OctopusesGarden · 27/07/2015 10:47

Thanks Worra. Will suggest it to himself. Keep an eye on the daily fail for my sad face photo when they kick him out of the shop

Or the CCTV of him strutting up and down the catwalk aisle in Boots Grin

OctopusesGarden · 27/07/2015 11:00

You've had sex and gone through having a baby and feel a bit weird buying condoms?

Whatever Confused

scatterthenuns · 27/07/2015 11:02

Chuck them in with the milk and the eggs. Really nothing to get worked about.

BarbarianMum · 27/07/2015 11:11

YABU if you are over the age of 15 no one will even blink if you buy condoms (if you are over 65 they will be impressed). If you take your dd with you it will be a bit of a give away that you've had sex anyway. If you really don't want to buy them again then bring home a pack of the mentholated ones (sensations 'cool' I think) Wink

RosePetels · 27/07/2015 16:28

You can buy them online at boots, Amazon, super drug, ebay
