Pierced Ear Outrage

Hi

Read a link earlier from a friends newsfeed on Facebook.

A Woman on Benefits Jaywick or something (I don't watch such shows, it is akin to going to Bedlam on Sunday afternoons to gawp at the less fortunate) pierced a babies ears for £10,. Assuming the stud gun is new each time and sterile what is the difference between this woman piercing and a Saturday job girl at a Jewellery Shop ? Surely it is the Mother at fault ? if anyone is at fault.

Is it only me who sees a lot of benefit bashing on TV, in "news"papers, radio talk shows etc ? Find it quite taunting and trying to show the people up for being on benefits.

Perhaps to equal it all up we have overkill of MPs expenses, renting out second tax payer funded homes, etc

OP posts:
MissDemelzaCarne · 24/07/2015 19:36

I saw that too Salmotrutta Grin

IonaMumsnet · 24/07/2015 20:05

AHEM.

HoneyDragon · 24/07/2015 20:09

It's ok you can say Mitmoo, Iona is too shiny and new to remember Wink

Anyone figured what the Jeff the opening post is on about yet?

The5DayChicken · 24/07/2015 20:16

I think so!

I think OP has attributed the outrage exclusively to the fact that the person performing the piercing was on benefits rather than to someone putting holes in their baby.

Manic3mum · 24/07/2015 20:18

I've re-read it three times - still none the wiser. Translation?

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 24/07/2015 20:23

Grin hilarious.

SistersofPercy · 24/07/2015 20:31

You didn't get the text either Iona? Grin

Spartans · 24/07/2015 20:36

The OP is confusing.

Not sure whether she is outraged it's another benefits bashing programme or outraged at her and the parents for getting babies ears pierced.

I am also amused she says she is being bullied while calling everyone cunts Grin

And no one text me, I feel very left out Grin

I'm afraid I don't really understand this thread..All I can decipher is that babies are being mutilated painfully against their will!!! And yes!!!! It does seem like the lower income families are supporting this abuse!!! Tis almost but not quite like FGM ... Inflicting horrible pain on someone who doesn't have the capacity to understand!!!!! Utter Disgrace!!! I understand that most reputable high street piercers will not perform on an infant ... But OP seems more interested in benefit bashers!!!! I'm confused... OP what are you actually railing against??? Is it painful mutilation of infants or misconception of benefit claimants? MPs ' expenses are irrelevant here!!!

HighwayDragon · 24/07/2015 20:42

Would you like some of my punctuation MoreWine, you appear to be running out!

HighwayDragon · 24/07/2015 20:43

Gabby, Mitmoo, SWMNBN and Sharon all in the first 25 posts feels nostalgic

alwaysaskingquestionz · 24/07/2015 20:47

I sort of get the OP but it does drift off into tangents.. you are all meanies though!!

I too miss Gaby.

FindoGask · 24/07/2015 20:59

I find the OP pretty easy to understand, I'm not sure what the problem is? She's asking whether the outrage at someone piercing a baby's ears is perhaps a) overblown and b) misdirected. HTH!

HoneyDragon · 24/07/2015 21:37

Findo

Where does being a benefit recipient come in to it then?

DeeWe · 24/07/2015 21:40

I don't think I ever met Mitmoo, however when I first joined I saw the remainder of a thread before it got zapped by HQ where everyone had changed their name to Mitmoo variations.
I knew I was glad I'd joined when I read that.Grin

If you say Mitmoo 3 times while spinning widdershins doesn't the devil appear or something?

Allbymyselfagain · 24/07/2015 22:02

Shit I think my name has been moved from the mumsnet mafia telephone tree. Can you get me added again please.

EmpressKnowsWhereHerTowelIs · 25/07/2015 10:08
