Mice don't like cheese very much, it's too strong tasting. Mine liked sunflower seeds. Just thought you would like to know Smile

TheAnswerIsYes · 23/07/2015 23:13

Mice like chocolate. I have caught many mice with a piece of Dairy Milk in a humane trap.

DodgedAnAsbo · 23/07/2015 23:15

An elephant in the safari park near us died recently, electrocuted. It stood on a bun and the current went up its leg

Topseyt · 23/07/2015 23:43

They are fruit and veg eaters. We have fed the ones at Colchester Zoo too (many moons ago). That was what was provided for them.

For your troubles you got a liberal smearing of elephant snot all over your hands. Grin

I love elephants.

WaggleBee · 24/07/2015 04:04

Definitely currant buns.

I had a lovely book as a child, about a boy going to the zoo, an elephant rescuing someone and the boy rewarding the elephant with currant buns. Wish I could remember the name of it.

WixingMords · 24/07/2015 04:16

elephants eat bums?!!!

Shock
PatriarchalHandmaiden · 24/07/2015 04:29

WaggleBee, surely you mean The Elephant and The Bad Baby?
www.goodreads.com/book/show/1095518.The_Elephant_and_the_Bad_Baby
Which doesn't involve good deeds but does involve an elephant eating buns!

AbbyCadabra · 24/07/2015 04:34

I thought of buns immediately, we must have all read the same books and/or watched Johnny Morris...
My mice like peanut butter.
Bears might like honey, but Paddington liked marmalade sandwiches. He was a singular type of bear, though.

Asbo, that dad joke was desperate!!

Seriouslyffs · 24/07/2015 05:27

Trunky want a bun?

dunmopin · 24/07/2015 08:57

Cats, on the other hand, love cheese

Icelandicsuperyoghurt · 24/07/2015 10:04

sleepsoftly :) :) Thanks for the heads-up re scallops. Good to know.

Walkingonsunshine00 · 24/07/2015 10:06

Leaves/plants

Theycallmemellowjello · 24/07/2015 10:07

Buns!

WilliamShatnersPants · 24/07/2015 10:31

The elephants at the zoo in my city love fresh bamboo. Every six months when we cull back the massive bamboo wall in out garden, we are allowed to deliver it to the zoo for the elephants to eat. Has to be cut on the same day they eat it tho as they are fussy!

MERLYPUSSEDOFF · 24/07/2015 11:40

My mum used to say (when someone was scoffing expensive food and not savouring it) 'It's like feeding an elephant strawberries'. Only much later I understood it to mean it was wasted on them.

(but I always thought they ate strawberries )

PercyGherkin · 24/07/2015 12:04

Johnny Morris you say?

Waves at chickenyummychicken

LoveTheLifeYouLive · 24/07/2015 12:09

Peanuts! I've never heard of them liking buns Confused

PageNotFound404 · 24/07/2015 12:10

I vaguely remember Miffy feeding the elephant at the zoo buns in one of my Miffy books as a child, and obviously Miffy would never lie.

WaggleBee · 24/07/2015 13:10

Patriarchal Sadly not that one though that looks lovely. Thanks. Smile I can remember the pictures better than the story. Think someone got stuck down a big hole/ditch...It's probably still at my parent's somewhere.

Bathsheba · 24/07/2015 13:42

We have a very loud and very friendly elephant in out family called Helfie.

I've just asked him and she says, without hesitation, the answer is Sticky Buns..

You probably caught the same mouse again and again who worked out how to get some chocolate!

WaggleBee · 24/07/2015 14:22

The book I mentioned was called 'Roger and the Elephant'. The name just came to me and a google confirms it's the one. Obviously not just elephants who never forget. Smile
