Shouldn't we expect just a little bit more of the Duchess of Cambridge.

Never turned up for one single memorial service for the armed forces, but there at Center Court, Wimbledon, rubbing shoulders with a load of celebs, and entertaining Brad and Angelina Pitt at Kensington Palace. Is this what her royal life boils down to.

Cant copy the link on this phone, just google the appropriate words, I cant understand why you think they wouldn't have a large staff, after all Charles has 150.Drudge its because the thread is about her? we all have opinions, to which we are entitled.

My problem with her (or do I mean with the media?) is that ever since she got engaged she has been painfully thin and noone, but noone, ever questions whether this is healthy. Endless pages have been written about how beautiful/well dressed/normal/level-headed/sensible she is. Noone ever says, hang on, what is she doing to maintain a weight of 8 stone at 5ft 9? Is it healthy to be able to fit into normal non maternity clothes when you're seven months gone?

And you seem bizarrely critical and overly invested into what KM does for some reason sweetgrape. And you talk like you have inside knowledge. You don't. Most of what you say you just don't know.

Now they're not allowed to change their minds about a nanny! I didn't realise that you weren't allowed to do that. Lots of arrangements for families are fluid, it changes with time depending on very many factors. Oh, but hang on, if you're in the RF, you're not allowed to. Ridiculous!

I think she's far too thin also sticky but that's a whole other thread maybe!

Roussette · 28/07/2015 22:12

Oh god no, spare me, not the data again, I'm off to bed!

"If the duchess of Cambridge was going round doing charitable acts for those charities that someone listed you can safely bet that they would be used to advantage by the palace PR. She puts her name to the charities and turns up (if they're lucky) to the odd event. There's no evidence to suggest otherwise. It's a racing certainty she's not doing much else."

Actually, I kind of do have knowledge to the contrary. I am involved on the periphery of a charity she is closely involved with, and I've been told from those in the charity that she attends private meetings, off diary, and wants to be keep abreast of progress. Far far more than the public appearances suggest anyhow.

I come from a very Republican family and was pretty surprised by this information TBH.

What "group" do you belong to Ego and what does your particular group think?

I wouldn't hazard a guess as to what your father thought Ego - I would do him the courtesy of not prejudging. I know exactly what you want us to think, but it may be far from the truth. .

drudgetrudy · 28/07/2015 22:30

I know what data is-I am a Social Sciences graduate. I think that you are applying data with too strong a brush and are overlooking the many exceptions.

drudgetrudy · 28/07/2015 22:31

Yes-what Mehitabel says.

Mehitabel6 · 28/07/2015 22:34

I don't think there is a 'typical MN user' - that is why I like it. We are a very varied bunch. Even MN don't know and are trying to do a questionnaire - they seem to particularly want to know why we older posters are here. I looked at it, but they asked too many questions.

Data is only as good as the KPIs and the information that is correctly inputted.

If we all acted according to data then we'd all be eating 5 a day, maintain a healthy weight and exercise for 45 minutes 3 times a week.

Data suggests that we shouldn't need to put the heating on in July.

My grandparents are over 60 and are naice middle class people who sent their offspring to private school, worked for the civil service, played golf and bridge and are both raging communists.

True, atually.

Mehitabel6 · 28/07/2015 22:38

But you can't tell which 820 that would be. Therefore you can't predict.

dougieroseagain · 28/07/2015 22:39

Data suggests that the average temperature in July shouldn't require the heating to be put on to stop the rheumatism kicking in.

LazyLohan · 28/07/2015 22:41

I have googled the words in several different combinations and nothing of the sort comes up. There is something on Wiki saying that they have 7.8 staff in their household which also covers Prince Harry. But that doesn't refer to domestic staff, that refers to the people who facilitate their Royal jobs eg press secretaries, private secretaries, PRs etc.

Similarly most of the 150 for Charles aren't domestic staff either. But Charles is notoriously profligate and always has been. Even the Queen disapproves of that. The Cambridgeshire however have never had that reputation, and until she was pregnant they just had a cleaner, nothing else.
