Shouldn't we expect just a little bit more of the Duchess of Cambridge.

Never turned up for one single memorial service for the armed forces, but there at Center Court, Wimbledon, rubbing shoulders with a load of celebs, and entertaining Brad and Angelina Pitt at Kensington Palace. Is this what her royal life boils down to.

If you can make that comment about the population over 60yrs it makes you wonder how much stereotyping you do about anything else. Never let facts get in the way of a good stereotype. Hmm

Mehitabel6 · 26/07/2015 09:29

You didn't like my link to the Guardian.

Don't tell me what I think based on age. My friends will have exactly the same cross section as everyone else.
You would assume that my grandfather, born 1884, was a supporter of royalty- WRONG. He wouldn't even stand up for the national anthem.

Since my mother is over 90yrs you must already know her view without asking!

We will have to agree to differ.
Those in their 60s were the most active politically as students.

I think it very odd that you would never expect to put 15- 45 yr olds as a group but you can put 60-90yr olds as a group.

I find it very patronising to be told what I am likely to think based on age.
I wouldn't dismiss a teenager's views with 'you would think that dear- statistically it is likely'.

Mehitabel6 · 26/07/2015 09:48

I might have more faith in polls in any of them asked me what I thought- not once have they done so.

Roussette · 26/07/2015 09:49

What sweeping generalisations Ego. Dreadful.

Imagine if I said "ahh, you are 32 and a teacher, and support labour. That explains it".

I have no idea of your age but wouldn't dismiss your opinion based on it. I don't pigeonhole people. And the way you are posting on the matter smacks of ageism.

Major backtracking there Ego!

It was just the "ahhhhh you are that generation" that came across rather dismissive to me too.

It came across as dismissive and patronising to me.

I also can't see how you can possibly bunch in together those born in 1920s with those born in 1950s as if we are one group.

Mehitabel6 · 26/07/2015 09:58

The worst thing was the predictability of it- I hovered before I posted because I knew the reaction my age would get.

fancyanotherfez · 26/07/2015 14:13

I think the age thing might only be significant because it makes it less likely that George will be king in the same sense we have a queen now, if at all. They will have to adapt drastically. I am younger and dnot know many out and out republicans, but I know the vast majority of my friends see them as an irrelevance. Apathy could see the end of them.

Egosumquisum - Haven't you already been banned by MNHQ for trolling under a different guise?

No offence, but I'd be careful if I was you Biscuit

Not dismissing your views. But you do belong to a group that tends to be have more support for the RF.

Ridiculous stereotyping.
It's like saying All younger people worship at the shrine of Kardashian.
Bollocks
I know plenty of people in their twenties who loathe the Kardashians and yet like the Royals - what they see of them.

What do you make of that? Hmm
Has it wrecked your nice, tidy, narrow minded mindset?
