To this question: What is the most insufferable kids tv show of ALL TIME?

Me and dh both 90's kids, we were watching old clips on youtube last night of shows we watched as young kids (playdays, tots tv, fireman Sam, thomas the tank engine etc. ) and we began to think that some of them are extremely annoying as adults. We also watched a few from popular kids shows today.

In the run up for me has to be peppa pig and doc mstuffins...

Grandpa In My Pocket. Deeply problematic.

DrWhooves · 18/07/2015 18:30

Bubble guppies and their awful tuneless singing. Shut up, shut up, shut up.

DoeEyedNear · 18/07/2015 18:30

Controversial one here

Adventure time

Trippiest programme EVER! Come along with me....

DramaAlpaca · 18/07/2015 18:31

Another vote for Barney.

DustBunnyFarmer · 18/07/2015 18:31

Isn't most kids TV awful? It's hard for me to pick out a clear winner.

MarchLikeAnAnt · 18/07/2015 18:32

Me too. It's awful and shit in every way you can imagine.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 18/07/2015 18:33

Try the sodding Wooden Tops from Watch with Mother in the 50s

Made me seethe when I was 3!

Tanith · 18/07/2015 18:35

Larry the Bloody Lamb!!Angry

Yes, I am showing my age but, my God, his vibrato voice used to grate on me. Just say it, can't you, without all that stupid bleating! Angry

Clueing4looks · 18/07/2015 18:37

Anything with Justin 'mr fucking tumble' Fletcher in/on/voiced by.
When my 2 stopped watching cbeebies, I literally celebrated the fact that I would never have to lay eyes on the bastard ever again.

Muddlewitch · 18/07/2015 18:56

Always bloody Barney.

Closely followed by Balamory/Me Too.

I'm a bit cross just thinking about them.

Bin50 · 18/07/2015 19:37

The Chuckle Brothers.

Especially at 6am.

BestIsWest · 18/07/2015 19:48

Toss up between Teletubbies or Barney.

DustBunnyFarmer · 18/07/2015 19:51

Barney. It's American as well as annoying. I saw them put peanut butter on pizza in an episode of Barney once.

Floralnomad · 18/07/2015 19:51

Button Moon

MarinaCoyle · 18/07/2015 19:55

Oh Floral I'd forgotten about Button Moon but I loved it when I was little. i may have had the video sorry mum and dad-.

I vote Kate and Mimmim and zingzillas. Shudder.

KatieScarlettreregged · 18/07/2015 19:57

Bal a fucking mory
The theme tune alone is enough to start my nervous twitch.

Flingingmelon · 18/07/2015 19:59

The new Thomas the tank engine ties with ITNG (many close runners up though). Why does Thomas have a weird American accent and why is ITNG actually quite unsettling?

DoeEyedNear · 18/07/2015 20:01

I have nightmares about balamory

What's the story in balamory
Wouldn't you like to know

KatieScarlettreregged · 18/07/2015 20:02

Aaarrgh
My grown up DC sometimes sing that at me to watch me squirm. Feckers.

PinguForPresident · 18/07/2015 20:03

Kate and bloody MimMim

Quite aside from the fact that MimMim sounds like a twee euphemism for female genitalia, the programme is fucking woeful. Miss off with your faux little girl voice and creepy rabbit. Urgh

When I was a kid - The Bastard Flowerpot Men - closely followed by Pinky and Bastard Perky - I thought, even at the age of five (although I didn't have the words) "these are just poorly made patronising filler that they think they can palm off on us cos we're kids".

Current - Dora the Explorer - her thin nasal whiny voice cuts through me like a knife. DD got given a dancing and singing Dora doll that I have come close to permanently disabling a number of times.

DadfromUncle · 18/07/2015 20:08

BTW I love Adventure Time so much I suspect it's not really a kid's prog at all.

TinyManticore · 18/07/2015 20:08

Adding another vote for that patronising bastard purple dinosaur Barney, with his sugary voice and gang of precocious children singing about baskets and loving each other.

Fatmomma99 · 18/07/2015 20:11

It's Barney, no question.

To all of you still on cebeebies, you have The Next Step to come. (shudders!)
