Broke up today! Very sad to see colleagues leave, very relieved to be getting a break. I appear to be experiencing some sort of Stckholm Syndrome though. I've spent all evening filling out my planner for next year and copying out my timetable.

Wideopenspace · 17/07/2015 20:56

hahaha fuzzy STEP AWAY FROM THE PLANNER

Enjoy - you've earned it!

Fatmomma99 · 18/07/2015 00:16

There's a really horrid thread on here now slagging off teachers. Wipeopen popped in, but backed away quite early.

I read all 9 (!) pages before posting recommending that THIS thread is the best party in town tonight!

FaffingtonBear · 18/07/2015 00:50

Passes out chocs and wine to all the teachers.

Enjoy your break, I have met with my DD's Y1 teacher several times this year and I've had my eyes opened to how much work teachers do.

Hats off to you, as I couldn't do it. I'm really looking forward to the holidays as I'm being a SAHM for my little girl and I can't wait Grin

elfycat · 18/07/2015 17:07

I didn't bother with the anti-teacher thread. My DSis is a teacher and I know she puts the hours in during term time, plus I've been drafted into helping her in holidays to prep the classroom.

I thought about doing a PGCE as I have a shiny English Literature degree and I don't want to do nursing any longer, but I figure the grass will not be greener in another industry overseen by the powers that be.

Do you think DD1's teacher would be offended by the gift of a bottle of gin? Or naice wine?

Wideopenspace · 18/07/2015 17:19

Gin would be an ACE present. But I really like gin....

Enjoy your well deserved holiday, OP.
Sending lots of Wine Cake and virtual gin Grin

ChwatFeechers · 18/07/2015 17:39

Enjoy your holiday, OP.

Your comment on the other thread was fucking horrible, Fatmomma99.

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 18/07/2015 17:43

I'm a TA.

I did have Gin bought for me by the fab teacher I work with grin].

I love the thought of seven weeks off Grin.

Plus my children are all older, yippee!

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 18/07/2015 17:44

*Grin

TwilightMad · 18/07/2015 17:50

If you feel that way, then why are you a teacher in the first place? I mean me personally I couldn't teach, mainly because I find other people's children (and their parents) rather annoying, but i'd certainly expect a teacher (especially one that was educating my own children) to feel passionate towards their job and would be rather offended if you were my children's teacher and i'd of read your comment!

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 18/07/2015 17:54

Just looked at the comment by Fatmomma, there are no words for such posts but highlighting them is useful for a shitlist.

WoonerismSpit · 18/07/2015 18:08

Why can't I find the comment?!

ollieplimsoles · 18/07/2015 18:10

Ive got two teacher friends coming over tonight for a massive takeaway session, they seriously need it Wine

Wideopenspace · 18/07/2015 18:10

twilight why on earth would you be offended? It is because I am passionate about my job that I work bloody hard and consequently am exhausted by the end of term and thoroughly look forward to the break!

Or is it the swearing? ????
