I'm not a teacher and yanbu. This term has taken forever and seems to have been gruelling all round. The trips last week seemed to be hosted/ chaperoned by the walking dead, the teachers looked that exhausted. The children aren't much better.

I bought all 8 teachers a bottle of cheap wine ( all I could afford) at first I felt bad about the cheapness of the wine- but when I locked eyes with my youngests teacher when handing over the gift I knew that tonight, at least, any wine will do. 41 under fives in the class! Braver woman than me. Six week breaks would seem too short! They're run ragged!

We don't even get a longer holiday!!! 1st sept is back to school!!! Oh god, where is that vodka???! Anyway, I am extremely jealous of all of you who have finished today - you deserve it! enjoy it and hope that the weather stays nice for you this week while I swelter in my classroom with bored sweaty teenagers

That happened to us last year Theend - the holiday just mysteriously shrank. S'annoying.

I'm extremely happy that the holidays are here. But also a bit sad... I have had a small and lovely class this year, but will be getting 30 more boisterous children come Sept.

I have a fab stash of chocs, biscuits, flowers, wine and candles. DD2 has her eyes on some of the chocs. :)

I shall enjoy not having to wake my 2 and get them ready for school, not planning, marking etc.

And we are having building work and repairs done at school so going in to work has been severely discouraged by the headteacher this year. Oh dear, what a shame. :)

Fattymcfatfat Wonderful to hear that your DS is excited. As the younger of two and father of an only I've never been in his position or seen anyone go through it - it must be passing strange for a child old enough to understand what is going to happen.

This term seems to have taken forever, and the kids seem to have been unusually grumpy the last couple of weeks. You always get end of term tiredness but this year they have excelled themselves.......

On the plus side i got some lovely cards and drawings (requested no presents) and cuddles from the little buggers :)

Free till sept 8th now!! Apart from a paperwork/declutter day on monday, but im ignoring that for now!!

In fact, my brain is so befuddled by this 8 week term that I don't even think I mean commiserations... What do I mean? Ah feck it. Where are the topical and educational videos?? And of course, that was a tongue in cheek comment, we shall be continuing with the curriculum right up to the final hour.

I also have another week, but it's like Christmas Eve, the anticipation is (almost) better than that 1st day of the holidays....

We said goodbye to the kids at 12.30, said goodbye to staff who are leaving then went to the pub! I am a little bit tipsy but SOOOO happy it's the holidays even though DD will still wake me up at 6 am every day! Trying not to dwell on that for now.
