Horrific & sad

Floundering · 15/07/2015 13:59

Haven't a clue who they are but as a mum my heart goes out to them for the loss of their beautiful boy Sad

Nick Cave has been such a presence in my life, and his music has seen me through some very tough times.

I'm a little taken aback by how much this has upset me.

Tragic, poor family.

MitzyLeFrouf · 15/07/2015 14:07

Horrendous. Poor Arthur, poor Cave family.

minouwasminou · 15/07/2015 14:07

How awful.
I recently introduced six-year-old DD to some of NC's more accessible music (Red Right Hand and 15 Feet) and she loves it. It'll be sad to hear it now because even though he makes dark music he always came across as a really nice guy who just liked to explore the underside of life.

Now, sadly, he's going through every parent's worst nightmare. Just horrible.

velourvoyageur · 15/07/2015 14:10

Oh god. How terrible.

I saw his film a while back (20,000 days on earth) and there were scenes with him and his boys in them, they came across as so tight-knit and close, lovely to see.

I used to sing Into My Arms to my children when they were babies.

I think that's what's making me cry.

OP posts:
MrsWickens · 15/07/2015 14:14

Oh that is so sad. RIP Arthur.

Singingbird · 15/07/2015 14:20

How utterly tragic, how awful for them.

DollyParsnip · 15/07/2015 14:40

It's really got to me too, just so unbelievably sad. My thoughts are with him and his family.

LovelySpread · 15/07/2015 14:43

Me too. He's been a huge part of my life for nearly thirty years. Heartbreaking for the poor poor family.

robin64 · 15/07/2015 19:14

Awful terrible thing. Susie was always one of my favourite models and I have loved Nick Cave's music for many years. Devastated for them.

trollkonor · 15/07/2015 19:23

So sad.

SophiePendragon · 16/07/2015 10:23

I just searched to see if there was a thread. Sad

I am so sorry for them all.

I didn't realise they lived here, I didn't even know he was married till a few months ago. But what a gorgeous family and what a complete tragedy.

All thoughts are with them xxx

AnyFucker · 16/07/2015 10:38

Jesus, that is tragic. What a gorgeous boy and a terrible loss for his family.

Myname15 · 16/07/2015 10:48

I used to sell the big issue, and nick cave would come stalking down the road looking like a bat, with two boys in a pushchair. He was always lovely and generous, and I would think how lovely it was he always seemed to be with them. It made me cry, all the more shocking cos I live so close, but Jesus, you'd have to be made out of stone to not feel sad about it

Samcro · 16/07/2015 10:51

how very sad

ebwy · 16/07/2015 10:55

that's awful. (I do know who his father is, and like his music, but it would be awful no matter who it is.)

feebeecat · 16/07/2015 11:00

So very sad

silverglitterpisser · 16/07/2015 13:53

I feel upset too. Just heartbreaking for any parent but especially one who seems so devoted. R.i.p Arthur

AnyFucker · 16/07/2015 15:50

I hope with all my heart that young man did not suffer.

Laquila · 16/07/2015 15:53

Oh Lord that's horrendous. OP, it's thinking of the lyrics to Into My Arms that's making me cry too. How anyone can carry on after that sort of tragedy is always an absolute mystery to me, but so many people do and I'm in awe of them all, and terribly sorry for those who don't feel they can.

fourtothedozen · 16/07/2015 16:11

Tragic.

Only watch if you have tissues to hand.

DrDre · 16/07/2015 16:28

Awful. The Proposition is one of my favourite films. A modern classic.
