To expect postman to shut gate

That's just it really, I always shut my front gate (in case the baby runs out or something as we're on a main road) but every single day without fail the postman opens it, posts our letters then walks out and leaves it wide open! If the gate is closed when we comes then I expect him to close it after him, surely that's not unreasonable! Grrrr. I just needed a rant really..

YANBU.
I have a sign on the gate and one on the door but the milkman and postman persist in leaving it open then, the dog escapes.
