To find this strange

Friend works full time in a professional role and also works part time evenings and weekends.

It isn't debt, her living expenses are low.

AIBU to find it odd and wonder how she manages it?

Maybe she doesn't have any hobbies or interests to keep her occupied. Is she single?

Mymateisweird · 03/07/2015 17:27

She is, but you'd think she'd rather find something she is interested in than work all the time wouldn't you?

Well you sound like a nice friend, mymateisweird. No I wouldn't think that because I don't spend this much time obsessing over what other people do!

Mymateisweird · 03/07/2015 17:47

Why don't I sound nice? Confused I haven't said anything detrimental about her!

How much time, buttonmoon? op hasn't said it keeps her awake at night.
People start threads about all sorts of shite they should in theory have better things to think about, don't they? A mild curiosity is probably closer than obsession, really.,.

Mymateisweird · 03/07/2015 17:54

Yes, it's more a mild curiosity! I haven't criticised her really - it would be nice to see more of her, though. But it's her choice of course!

I always find people spending time on forums about the trifling matters of strangers criticising how much time people spend thinking about trifling matters of people they know a bit odd.

Maybe she only cares about the accumulation of money. Maybe she has anxiety and can't bear to be alone.

Maybe she's a spy. I like this reason best.

NickiFury · 03/07/2015 17:57

You sound fine OP! It's just the usual gleeful Lets Go For The Jugular Because It's AIBU And I Can nonsense.

Mymateisweird · 03/07/2015 17:59

Thanks Blush

I was just thinking it was odd as we have the long summer holiday coming up (both teachers) and she said she couldn't go anywhere as she has to work which does seem strange!

Agree with Nicki! OP ignore the crap

I had two jobs & no need for it. I hated my day job, it was dull, uninspiring, boring & no progression. But it paid my bills.

I also worked behind the bar at a rock club. I loved it! It was my social life, my hobby. I earned enough working Friday night to make Saturday, (my night off) cost neutral, I only spent what I made the night before.

Then I got a new day job that I enjoyed and stopped working at the club.

I took the second job because I enjoyed it. I've always enjoyed bar work though.

I had two jobs for a long time - my day job paid the bills then I would go to my evening job in a cinema which was min wage, late hours and the most fun I have ever had! I got to see everything for free and it was so different from my boring day job
