New neighbours have just moved in beside my sister. They parents have the same first names as DH & I. And their first born same name as our first born.
Funny isn't it?

A colleague in work also married 2 girls of exactly the same first name and surname.

2 blonde lizzies

Yep, would love to be a fly on the wall first day back, they are in the same form as well hehe Grin

I love these

My friend just told me her bil and his bf have the same first and surname and were born on the same day in the same hospital.
Quite common names

PILs are James and Trish, FIL sister is also Trish and married to James. MILs brother (name is FILs middle name) is also married to a Trish. SILs FIL is also James! Tis very confusing!

Myself, DBro and DSis have another set of siblings in our home town with the same names. They were specifically named after us though as their mother decided she liked our names so much, so it's not a coincidence.

namechangio - at least that must make rehoming unwanted personalised tatt gifts easy!

My dad's girlfriend has the same surname as my husband and me, so I share a surname with her but not my dad.

ChanandlerBongsNeighbour · 01/07/2015 20:08

My DH middle name and surname (my surname too since marriage) are my two brothers names and his first name is the same as my only male cousin.

Y0la · 01/07/2015 20:13

I think those two name wizard women (laura wattenberg and somebody satran (?)) explained it very well. How, two women born roughly at the same time, meet men born roughly at the same time, if they are from similar backgrounds they have similar cultural references, aspire to similar things, and then, they have a child, and they all simultaneously have the same 'unique' choice for their child's first name. Something that hasn't been used for their generation or the two generations above............ maybe one of them has a grandparent called this and a couple has 8 grandparents between them.

PerfectlyPosed · 01/07/2015 20:23

My grandmothers names are both the same as DPs grandmothers.

Also, myself, my MIL and my SIL all have the same middle name.

awombwithaview · 01/07/2015 20:30

When I've done a bit of ancestry research I've frequently found several people with the same name born in the same year in different parts of the country or even the same town ....some of the names are pretty unique too. It makes it really confusing trying to work out who is the actual relative!

SantaLucia91 · 01/07/2015 20:43

My best friend at Uni looked quite a lot like me and people often thought we were sisters. I later married someone with the same surname as her. Now we even share a surname people really don't believe we're not related.

I once worked with someone who had adult children called Paul and Lisa. Paul's wife was called Lisa and Lisa's husband was called Paul!

VodkaJelly · 01/07/2015 20:52

My ex husband has the same name as my brother, so we will say Ben, my good friend also went out with a Ben and her brother was also called Ben. It got confusing!

GiddyOnZackHunt · 01/07/2015 20:54

My mum has a brother Fred who married a Petula. My MIL has a brother called Fred and a sister called Petula. I have a variation of a name that is MIL's name that she isn't known by.
And DH has a half brother who was adopted and has the same adoptive forenames as DH.
*names changed obviously :)

GinUpGirl · 01/07/2015 20:56

I once went to a farm where the mummy pig shared my mums name and had two piglets with the same names as my sister and I Grin

Tanith · 01/07/2015 21:03

Not names, but birthdays.

I childmind with my DH: we have 16 children on the books.

One shares my mother's birthday, one shares my brother's birthday, one's birthday is my wedding anniversary.
Three share the same birthday, two of whom are the same age.

Of the rest, 2 were born on the 10th of the month, as was I. There is also a straight flush of 22, 23, 24 and 25.

CrystalHaze · 01/07/2015 21:49

I worked in an office that employed around 40 people ~ three women there had the exact same name. Two were married and double-barrelled with their maiden names and the unmarried woman used her middle name so that we knew which one customers were asking for when they rang up.

ScrambledEggAndToast · 01/07/2015 21:59

I have a younger brother, same mum and dad. About 3 years ago, we found out that dad had another son who was adopted 50 years ago and is older than both of us. My older brother was given one name at birth but was then re-named by his adoptive parents. We were most surprised when we found out that it was the same name as my younger brother Grin I refer to my bros as BigBro and LittleBro now seeing as they have the same first name.

EmmaWoodlouse · 02/07/2015 23:41

I used work in a school where there were two boys with the same name (let's say Connor Brown). One was in year 4 when I first knew him and was very naughty/violent/inappropriate. The other was in year R, cried a lot and wouldn't say boo to a goose. On more than one occasion in assembly the deputy head suddenly boomed "CONNOR BROWN!" as "big" Connor was messing about, only for "little" Connor to burst into tears!

silverglitterpisser · 03/07/2015 01:31

DD's best friend's mum n dad have the same names as DH n I n they almost called their DD same name as DD! They have another DD n if had been a DS, he would've been named the same as my DS, (after her dad so they're not just flattering us iyswim) .

None r particularly unusual names but a bit rarer than top 100 type n it does seem mad.

Thoughtfulduck · 03/07/2015 02:04

My dp's maternal grandparents are called Norma and Norman...I didn't believe him when he first told me!

And his paternal uncle is called Sylvester...you guessed it, his wife is Sylvia!
