To wonder what hobbies your non sporty 11 year old DSs have?

My DS has no interest in sport but is massively into computer programming which is not so bad and playing games on the computer. I would love to get him off the computer and interested in something else

My Ds does Scouts which covers a whole range of different activities.
we have all recently started geocaching which has proved successful as it allows techie stuff outdoors

Thanks seeline. He does enjoy geocaching but not Scouts unfortunately. What does you ds tend to do after school each day?

My DS loves Scouts which gives him huge variety in his extra-curricular life (went to see Bear Grylls at the Hay festival a couple of weeks ago!) - what did your DS not like about it? I only ask because it accounts for nearly everything DS does that's not playing Minecraft on the ipad!

DS has also been taking part in the school play recently, and does music. Does your DS not like any sport at all? One of DS's friends goes climbing. DS also likes fencing - again, not a typical sporty sport. He would love to do more kayaking as well.

Mine hates all sports too. And Scouts. And pretty much everything other than Xbox and computers. However he has now discovered music and is learning drums and bass.

He does like stunt scooting and climbing, but we have to take him to places to do them. I was looking for something he can do every day after school instead of computers.

My ds does like sporty things, but he is also a Scout, takes piano lessons at school and is about to start learning German outside school. He did/does some kayaking at Scouts, so last year he did a course in the summer holidays to get his Paddle Power Passport too.

He used to be football mad so I encouraged him to go to Cubs to do something non-football-related. Guess what the first activity was: yep you guessed it, a football tournament :) Now he's cricket mad instead.

Other ideas could be Boys Brigade, St Johns Ambulance, we also have a group in this area for birdwatching/wildlife stuff, orienteering, adventure days at outdoor activities centres so the kids do lots of things from toasting marshmallows to canoeing to climbing to dodgeball. Sports, but participative rather than competitive. Then there are things like language clubs.

Does he like drama or dance? Loads of boys are doing this now. I know a almost 14 yo who just loves it. He does dance, drama and mine craft!

Ds does a lot of music through school, so often stays late for rehearsals, concerts etc and doesn't have much time after school for much other than homework (secondary school).

DS hates sports but he does like karate (I think because it's more individual whilst also being social). And scouts.

But he mostly plays minecraft/clash of clans/insert other computer game of choice.
