Tend to agree with you there san fairy about the stealth boast.

NewFlipFlops · 02/07/2015 20:56

I know I'm ancient but pink and blue casts WTF? Plaster casts are white, gender-free and kids' friends write on them in biro.

Blue and pink casts indeed

Blu · 02/07/2015 20:59

NewFlipFlops: you can have stripes of more than one colour if you have a friendly technician!
And they are much lighter than the old school casts - not even plaster Shock

NewFlipFlops · 02/07/2015 21:02

Shock Blu! Smile

YANBU. There's no reason why a boy shouldn't be able to choose pink.

GreenAugustLion · 02/07/2015 21:18

I would discourage either of my Ds's from having a pink cast because it would look odd to so many, invite comments and because other kids are mean.

Blu · 02/07/2015 21:40

DS had black and white stripes in his Beano Dennis the Menace phase Grin

Blu · 02/07/2015 21:40

I mean black and red, of course.

squareheadcut · 02/07/2015 21:41

My son had pink and no probs whatsoever at school

nowttodowithme · 02/07/2015 21:59

My little girl currently has a bright pink full leg cast. She is 7 and insisted on it.

She now hates it as it attracts so many comments and looks when she's out in her wheelchair.

So from my angle and how much attention he may have got, I think blue was a sensible option.

TealFanClub · 02/07/2015 22:44

Why comments? 'Oh it's pink '?!

In my experience pink casts are disproportionately popular with boys around age 8-12. At Christmas they even get sparkles.
Personally I'm extremely anti gendering of inanimate objects, so YANBU.
