People who are doing it WRONG

My Dad loves to talk about how he enjoys a good barbecue in this weather, once he even invited a lot of family round for one.

His version of a BBQ is a George Formby grill (natch), and in nice weather he plugs it in outside to cook a burger or sausage on. He is quite evangelical about how clever it is to barbecue that way.

It gives me the gritted teeth rage.

Anyone else who is doing it ALL WRONG? Offload here Brew

I've just remembered, FIL goes to naice restaurants, orders a steak and then, Blush , pours vinegar all over it.

MrsH I hung mine out at 6.47 pm this evening, all ready to dry tomorrow. Tops from the bottom, bottoms from the top here.

No spiders, no darked on (not sure what that is though!).

2 weeks or so ago my dog ate 16 dry weetabix.

Sandwiches have butter - that's the roolz.

Pasta bake is lovely if its made without mushroom soup , tuna and crisps and called lasagne.

GloGirl · 30/06/2015 21:28

PS, baked beans are the devil's own anal cysts.

oh dear my 3 year old DD has recently started asking for a dry weetabix on top of her usual cheerios...she gets annoyed if any milk dare splash on it, has to be dry....only a matter of time before she crosses to the dark side and asks for Marmite or some other type of wrongness on it isn't it?.....I'm doomed

FraggleHair · 30/06/2015 21:35

I might contact the Daily Mail re. the blight on Britain that is people eating Weetabix in a 'not in a bowl with milk' context. If some of the dry Weetabixers could own up to be foreign that would help my campaign.

WixingMords · 30/06/2015 21:42

Sandwiches DO NOT have butter in them. You are WRONG.

What the heck is darked on? That's not really what an actual human being actually said is it? In a serious manner?

FraggleHair · 30/06/2015 21:45

Some sandwiches have butter, others don't. It's a nuanced issue.

MrsHathaway · 30/06/2015 21:45

NO.

I put my last load out yesterday at 6.45, not as hot as today. By dusk, round about now, it was 99% dry. You don't need to leave it overnight, honest.

MrsHathaway · 30/06/2015 21:51

I agree re butter on sandwiches.

Ham or chicken or cheese or similar, yes obviously otherwise it doesn't stick together.

Bacon, hell no.

Tuna mayonnaise, no.

Chocolate spread, NO

Jam, yes for me (salt/sweet thing); no for DC and DH.

WixingMords · 30/06/2015 21:55

Acutally you are correct fraggleHair some sandwiches do, any sandwich that is hot does. So sorry MrsHathaway you are wrong bacon sandwiches do have butter, chicken and ham or cheese do not.

The End.

MrsHathaway · 30/06/2015 22:32

Wait, whut?

How do you glue the ham securely into the sandwich then?

WixingMords · 30/06/2015 22:33

I don't eat ham sandwiches - best solution really

WixingMords · 30/06/2015 22:35

Though I make them for one of the DSs occasionally (i've a bit of an aversion to ham - dunno why I eat bacon!!) and he has salad cream

TiggyD · 30/06/2015 22:43

I like cooking dinner. It give me such a thrill
When I'm standing outside with my George Formby grill

I don't like food that tastes of smoke
This really isn't any joke
I just get pissed and have a toke
When I'm grilling burgers!

I can't wait for charcoal to light
Gas powered thing just don't seem right
I don't do any fancy shite
I just like grilling burgers!

I'm not though, it'd be a folding disaster darling. DP found a lovely vino verde in M&S and we took ourselves back to Portugal for the evening.

Anyhoo: Brown Sauce = Wrong in any circumstance.

motleymop · 30/06/2015 23:21

I had no idea I needed to be worried about my laundry being darked on - what happens exactly? I would like to be prepared for such an eventuality.

WixingMords · 30/06/2015 23:37

I've towels on the line. I'll up date in the morning about the effects of darking.

DowntownFunk · 30/06/2015 23:44

My friend at school enjoyed her weetabix with salad cream.

My DH puts the milk and teabag in the cup before the water.

MrsHathaway · 01/07/2015 00:53

I shall gracefully retire from the laundry debate as it appears I'm wrong bloody not though and I've had the new baby news I've been waiting for. [teddy]

MrsHathaway · 01/07/2015 00:54

Bear ? Would make more sense.

Lweji · 01/07/2015 00:56

Have you actually tried leaving laundry outside at night? And what happened?

kickassangel · 01/07/2015 01:43

Al? the colors go a bit dark and sludgy like. That bright orange top becomes more ochre than orange. Black is a nightmare, it goes invisible.

kickassangel · 01/07/2015 01:45

All the colors get darker and never recover. Bright orange becomes burnt orange. Black disappears entirely.
