to be amazed at what people try to sell stuff for!

I never fail to be amazed at the value people put on their old junk. I've seen second hand boots, bought for £60, selling for £55 plus money for petrol/delivery. BARGAIN! I had a friend who tried to sell her knackered £100 Juicy Couture bag for £85. I tried to explain that a 15% saving isn't an awful lot considering she'd been using is for years, to no avail.

I wonder if anyone is actually buying this second hand stuff to save a couple of pounds, especially as its often impossible to tell the condition until you pick it up. I'd much rather have a scout through the sales, you'd probably find better discounts!

(That being said, I'm a massive fan of buying second hand, and it was a godsend when I needed to furnish my flat on the cheap)

I just sold some sunnies on gum tree. Cost me a good few £100 when I bought them about 8 years ago.

Thought would chance my arm at £50.

Agreed to sell them for that and then others were offering me nearly 3 x as much.

I Annie sloaned my cheapie battered pine bed and bedside tables because it was cheaper than buying new furniture. I wonder what they'd sell for. Maybe a new bed and mattress is now in reach!

Its crazy. I tried to give away a few good quality, branded pairs of children's shoes and a designer coat for free and got no interest whatsoever.

Then I see people selling absolute shite, inundated with offers.

Baffling.

I couldn't agre more! Think this all the time. Some of the prices people are asking are just below what it would cost new. Also , another thing is when people put "needs a good clean" surely you would clean the item before even listing it!

Someone on mine is asking for somebody to go to ger house and do her hair and make up - for free!

mumtoaninja · 29/07/2015 20:47

Have just seen someone offering a wardrobe & bedside table free to collector. First reply...I'll have these, can you deliver Confused

Also seen a lady offering her old 3 piece for free available mid August when her new one is due to be delivered. Countless people asking if they can collect now!

Why can't people READ the whole ad...they see the word FREE and swarm like vultures!!

FiL has a cabinet full of VHS tapes. His planning to car boot them at £5 each.

I told him even a charity shop wouldn't want them for free, but I'm apparently wrong, as some of them are ' really good films' Grin
