crossing light pride

aibu to feel a ridiculous sense of pride when waiting at a crossing with other people and being the first to notice that the man has gone green? and being the first to confidently stride across the road like a dick

my life is not v exciting

There's one of those horsey-crossing-jobs at the crossroads near where I used to live - but only in one direction so you're OK if you're riding down the hill but not if you want to go up it

I also use the twiddly button, where I can. It means I can daydream and not look at the crossing but still know when to go. I get annoyed when there isn't one (because sometimes if the crossing beeps it doesn't generally twiddle - some beepy ones do though) cos then I have to actually concentrate on being a pedestrian

I like to use the spinning cone when other people are around so they look at me and wonder what the hell im doing and I can stand there smugly because I'm clearly very clever to know that it exists

I once heard that by twiddling the cone, it made the traffic stop more quickly? I don't believe it for a moment, but still do it Now I think about it, I'm sure I heard a radio phone in talking about it
