I'm 28 weeks pregnant. I'm too hot. My hands are feet are like hot irons and it's already too damned hot for my liking.

Therefore, I'm doing a raindance and hoping for Arctic winds.

26 weeks with twins and an active toddler and utterly dreading the next few weeks. Even supervising in the garden is horrendous as it gets the sun nearly all day. All I want to do is lie in the one cool room in the house. Not going to happen! Last pregnancy was in winter and it was far more comfortable.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 27/06/2015 07:42

I don't like the heat either and I'm neither pregnant nor menopausal. Low 20s is plenty hot enough for me, preferably with low humidity.

chrome100 · 27/06/2015 07:47

No sympathy whatsoever. It's been cold and wet here for weeks. I would kill for some warmth or a bit of blue sky.

Betsyblue · 27/06/2015 07:49

I'm with you OP- 32 weeks with a super active toddler here!

watchingthedetectives · 27/06/2015 07:49

Where are you all - it's hit a high of about 23 degrees here with a breeze so not exactly tropical - happy to be pregnant in this weather ??

Sansarya · 27/06/2015 07:54

I was about 8 weeks pregnant in the summer of 2913 and had to take a week off work for a bad back that coincided with very hot weather. I can remember not having the need to do anything beyond lie in a darkened room with the fan on, being very grateful I was at the beginning rather than the end of my pregnancy! DS was born in February so I was glad to be my largest in the cold months.

namechangeagaimm · 27/06/2015 08:00

Plummybrummy your hippo comment made me lol Grin

I'm only 14 weeks pregnant, but I'm allergic to the sun Angry I have to cover all my skin to go out and even that doesn't really help, and obviously it's hot to be covered up. Have seriously considered a burka. Can’t take meds for it because of pregnancy Hmm

Iammad · 27/06/2015 08:06

Prefer winter being pregnant then summer, last year I was in the last trimester the whole of the summer and it was horrendous!
My house feels like the devil is sat in the corner even with a fan on which was just circling warm air.
I'm 11 weeks now and morning sickness with this heat is just as bad.

WorldsBiggestGrotbag · 27/06/2015 08:08

38 weeks here and already too hot to move. I feel your pain.

TheEmpressofBlandings · 27/06/2015 08:08

Get yourself some cooling spray, I went through cans of it when I was pregnant. Spray it on your feet, bliss.
I hate hot weather.

Hassled · 27/06/2015 08:08

I've been wingeing on about being cold and the shite weather and how I long for the sun for months now - then I saw the forecast and thought "but I'll be too hot, it will be awful". I am officially never satisfied :o.

Hassled · 27/06/2015 08:09

And many sympathies to all the pregnant women - I managed to have all 4 DCs in the summer and still remember how wretched it was.

Elliptic5 · 27/06/2015 08:11

Yup, Scotland is definitely the place to be if you want to be cold, wet and STILL wearing jumpers and coats Angry.

prorsum · 27/06/2015 08:11

I'm with you on this as menopausal hot flushes are keeping me hot enough.

I'm moving to Scotland. Today.

keeptothewhiteline · 27/06/2015 08:26

Please send some sun to Scotland, I have the heating on.

Crabstick · 27/06/2015 08:32

I've experienced winter and summer pregnancy and the summer pregnancy was awful.

If you have a garden, sit in the shade and fill the paddling pool up and put your feet in or just get in like it did.

In the evenings my husband used to bring buckets if ice water to the lounge for my feet and hands.

Keep the curtains closed all day to try and keep in doors cool.

Cliffdiver · 27/06/2015 11:04

YANBU, I am BFing and a hot sticky mess. DD1 also does not fare very well in the heat.

I hope it's a shit summer weather-wise Grin

SideOrderofChips · 27/06/2015 11:07

26 weeks pregnant here feeling your pain! Thankfully we bought an 8ft pool and put it by and that is now sat waiting for my pregnant hippo arse (and 2 dd's i suppose) to go park itself in it when it hits 29oC so i can cool off!!

BettyCatKitten · 27/06/2015 11:12

My twins were summer babies and the last month of my pregnancy was a heat wave, it was horrendous. I don't want it to be hot next week as I'll be working nights and it's nigh on impossible to sleep well in the day when it's very hot, plus all and sundry will be busy in their gardens. Count me in on the rain dance!

ghostyslovesheep · 27/06/2015 11:16

my middle child was born mid July - I feel your pain x

I recommend a cool bath with herbal bath stuff followed by a lie down on a bed with the curtains closed and a fan on (still damp) - it worked for me

I hated being pregnant and hot x

contractor6 · 27/06/2015 11:17

Ooo there's lots of 28 weekers atm. I am starting early mat leave on Wednesday, so sorry I'm looking forward to the nicer weather.

MrsGentlyBenevolent · 27/06/2015 11:34

26 weeks here, dreading it getting too warm. I'm a summer hater anyway, as is my partner. We have (half seriously) discussed the possibility of moving to Canada, just to get away from the stupid bloody sun. Come back soon winter, I miss you Sad.
