To not expect my parcel lobbing through the window?

I was out of the house, but had left the windows open.

Just been in the lounge and saw a parcel in the middle of the lounge floor. The door is locked - so I can only assume that the postie threw it through the open window ?

It's a top opener too, so not just a gentle 'drop' to the ground.

Fortunately it wasn't too fragile.

Anyone else had any strange 'posting' methods like this ?

A parcel for DH was left in a neighour's bin. The neighbour brought it round two months later, after returning from a long trip away. We live in a rural area and so the neighbour is actually quite a distance and a different drive away!!!!

I had a parcel a couple of weeks ago, the postman left a card with 'Behind the garage' on it. The postie had gone down next doors drive and thrown my parcel over our 6ft fence. It was bloody lucky that it arrived intact because the object was breakable and it had landed onto a pile of logs!

My postie saw me on a different street, stopped the van rolled down the window and shouted that he'd left my parcel on the back of my bike in the carport. Thank you!

I have had parcels left on my front doorstep and in my bloody wheelie bin! Angry

redexpat My postie has once or twice caught me walking the dog when's he's in his van, and stopped to give me some parcels I wasn't in to sign for Smile He also puts anything that doesn't require a signature in the garage for me. Love my postie!

City Link once informed me that they couldn't deliver my £2k computer components because they couldn't get through the barrier. Which is automatic. And was in perfect working order. They had, in fact, attempted to get in through the 'out' barrier, which of course has sensors on the other side.

There is a big sign, with an arrow, telling you which barrier to use. I got a little icy on the phone when they said that what with Christmas coming up, I'd have to wait another two weeks for the delivery (mostly because I was worried about the components being chucked on and off vans for two weeks) but a polite version of 'are you on a fucking wind up?' soon had two lovely people from the local office drive out in their car to fulfill the delivery. Personally I reckon they were glad of the chance to get away from the desk and stop answering calls from the irate public such as myself Grin

I love my postie, he hides stuff in all kinds of fun places in the garden and then leaves me little clues. He's also rescued parcels for me that have the house number wrong but the name right. Always stops to say hello if we see him the street. Hermes on the other hand have it in for me now ive had to have so many refunds from them. Clothes in a bin. iPod dock over a 6ft fence. Chocolates left out in the sun in front of the garage. Terrible.

I sent my grandparents some flowers pre arranged in a vase as my grandmother was ill, the box clearly stated they were flowers and there was glass in the package and it was fragile. Yodel delivery man decided to lob it over a six/seven foot fence. The parcel was quite well bubble wrapped, but still the vase and flowers were smashed to bits. My grandparents were so upset. I was irate with Yodel. Luckily the flower company were lovely and sent a huge bouquet out the next day with a different courier.

I've had an Amazon package left on my doorstep luckily at the time we were on the top floor of a block of flats and it was only us and one other flat up there but I was still annoyed. Nothing compared to most of this though.
On the plus side I ordered some stuff from Clinique, not sure what delivery people they used but it turns out my neighbour over the road worked for them and took it home until he saw I'd got in from work.
