How warm is your kitchen? How hot was it last night where you live?

waffilyversati1e · 20/06/2015 14:16

Ummm well there's no heating in there yet so not boiling. It was about 18 I think?

PotOfYoghurt · 20/06/2015 14:18

I would bin them.

Possibly not if it was the middle of winter and Russia.

With chicken I wouldn't risk it.

WalterShite · 20/06/2015 14:19

Eat them. I left a cooked chicken from Morissons out overnight and it was fine.

CycleChic · 20/06/2015 14:20

Chicken is not one of the ones to be laid back about I'm afraid :( bin them and mourn the loss

Rattitude · 20/06/2015 14:20

I would eat them. The chicken has been cooked and the ambient temperature was not that high.

StarlingMurmuration · 20/06/2015 14:25

I probably wouldn't eat them, tbh.

gamerchick · 20/06/2015 14:27

Last night till this morning I would use them.

AuntyMag10 · 20/06/2015 14:44

I definitely wouldn't eat it.

contractor6 · 20/06/2015 14:55

Not if your in the south east was too hot last night. Chicken poisoning is horrid

grumpyoldlady · 20/06/2015 15:13

We regularly leave the remains of a roast chicken out, as it won't fit in the fridge. Never had a problem, I would absolutely eat it.

EatDessertFirst · 20/06/2015 15:49

Don't eat it. Bin it immediately. No question.

TheBobbinIsWound · 20/06/2015 15:55

Bin them.

BettyCatKitten · 20/06/2015 15:57

I'd bin them.

mrsfuzzy · 20/06/2015 16:01

those who would eat it have been lucky never to have food poisoning, only had it once and never realised you could feel so ill and not die, nasty ! i'd def bin.

Alambil · 20/06/2015 16:11

I'd reheat and eat them but them I also east reheated rice Grin

limitedperiodonly · 20/06/2015 16:25

I'd eat them.

I don't understand people's fear of chicken. Fuck off great big Golden Eagle yes. Or a chicken armed with an Uzi.

Rattitude · 20/06/2015 16:51

I have had food poisoning before but never with something I had prepared myself.

Raw or insufficiently cooked chicken, yes, be careful, but cooked chicken? I doubt there is any greater risk than with any other cooked meat.

I think that if you are unsure about eating something and start a thread about it, then you will end up binning it as you are more likely to be convinced by other posters who are extremely (excessively?) safety-conscious.

EatDessertFirst · 20/06/2015 17:00

Its not about home-cooked vs store-bought. Its about food being kept at a dangerous temperature for a prolonged period of time. Anything between fridge temperature and about 62 degrees celcius is prime bacteria incubating temperature. A lot of food poisoning bacteria double in numbers every twenty minutes. Cooked chicken left at room temperature for hours is about as dangerous as it gets.

Anyone that contemplates eating it is pretty dim. Food poisoning kills people.

UnspecialSnowflake · 20/06/2015 17:05

I'd bin it, it's not worth the risk.

Fluffyears · 20/06/2015 17:15

I cooked chicken then left it overnight to cool before putting in fridge. I thought you weren't meant to put hot food into the fridge??

BabyMurloc · 20/06/2015 17:18

I would definately bin it.

Rattitude · 20/06/2015 17:20

Fluffy, you are doing fine. No need to change your approach. Smile

totty12mum · 20/06/2015 18:03

We'd eat it. Leave stuff to cool overnight all the time
