He broke his leg 2 songs into a gig in Sweden, got treated and then came back on stage to finish the concert.
Am very excited that I'm seeing them next week.

Dave is fab.

But so is the Swedish NHS - he was treated and x-rayed and put in a cast and back on stage in an HOUR. With his own personal paramedic sitting next to him and keeping his leg stable. As much as I love the NHS I can't see that happening here.

Hearts - no he wasn't. He was temporarily patched up by on site medical staff. He went to the hospital after the gig.

TidyDancer · 13/06/2015 18:36

That aside, two gigs next week are already cancelled, so Wembley looking iffy. :(

operaha · 13/06/2015 18:57

fuck sticks

munchier · 13/06/2015 19:02

He's an absolute credit to mankind.

Sceptimum · 13/06/2015 19:42

He's a legend and I love the Foos. I'd love to meet him except I suspect I'd get complete stage fright, bark out something terminally embarrassing and then pass out.

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 13/06/2015 20:24

Oh fuck. Pleeeeassseee don't cancel Wembley.

WoweeZowee · 13/06/2015 20:27

As if we need another reason to love Star The Grohlster Star Grin

CrockedPot · 13/06/2015 20:41

Some of the nights pre Wembley have been cancelled, with the 19th being the next date they are expected to perform. Really hope he feels better, but just being selfish, need to book my hotel yet!

I had a similar break a few years ago, admittedly I broke my tibia at the same time but both bones required surgery to pin and plate and it took ages to recover.

I saw Dave and the Foos a couple of weeks ago at the radio 1big weekend, they were awesome!

Toadinthehole · 13/06/2015 22:57

YABU.

I see your Dave Grohl and raise you Bert Trautmann.

DeeCayed · 14/06/2015 00:50

YANBU.
Gutted I didn't get to see them at the Stadium of light last month Sad but I saw them years ago at Radio 1's big weekend where he'd been told by his Dr not to sing as he had laringitis but he said "fuck it" and sang anyway! Legend!

GozerTheGozerian · 14/06/2015 00:55

I think he has had an operation now though and they're waiting to decide about other gigs. I just can't see then playing for a while. I'm meant to be seeing them at Glastonbury in 2 weeks so crossing fingers he's ok but I feel doubtful.

Love The Grohl.

HexBramble · 14/06/2015 10:11

Operaha - name your favourite songs. Only discovered the Foos about 12 years ago. Love them. Anyone remember the You Tube clip of Dave tearing a strip of some twat in the crowd trying to fight? Has hun thrown out I think?

HexBramble · 14/06/2015 10:20

had him thrown out

operaha · 14/06/2015 12:18

Omg that is brilliant - me and the kids love watching that, we really are die hard. that documentary where he's swimming with his daughter gets me every time.

anyway, fave song of all time is "times like these" - but more recently "walk" and probably the most musically perfect number ever is "rope".
I also love d.o.a and a b side that I've forgotten the name of "the rain is here and you my dear...." argh it'll come to me.

My son and I will lose voice on Saturday (i hope!)

on an aside - I listened to load of iggy pop all day yesterday and really enjoyed it so looking forward to that, but again and again I've tried to get into royal blood but will basically be drinking in the sun during them cos they're crap.

frankie001 · 14/06/2015 14:10

I'm guessing he has had to have surgery. Am really hoping he is ok for Friday, but so be it if they need to re schedule. He will hate to let fans down.

I keep checking their twitter feed but no word so far. I'll be disappointed if it doesn't go ahead, but I'd rather The Grohl was OK...

frankie001 · 15/06/2015 11:40

He is in London! This makes me feel more positive. Hopefully will get new today either way.

MerdeAlor · 15/06/2015 11:54

quietbatperson its only a fibula, paracetamol will take care of that???

Oh please, a fracture of that nature?

He is a legend, maybe too much so, I hope he puts his health first.

squoosh · 15/06/2015 11:59
