He broke his leg 2 songs into a gig in Sweden, got treated and then came back on stage to finish the concert.
Am very excited that I'm seeing them next week.

I love Date Grohl! So does my 14 year old. We saw them at the Leeds festival a few years ago and they were awesome!

Singingbird · 13/06/2015 09:41

He's not called The Nicest Man in Rock for nothing. He came into The Crobar one night, years ago... Got absolutely mobbed, but laughed and smiled all the way through. Lovely guy.

A unanimous nbu. Do I win a prize? Like a kiss from Mr Grohl?

He is officially amazing.

BishopBrennansArse · 13/06/2015 09:54

I go very unnecessary at that bloke. But yeah defo legend.

MairzyDoats · 13/06/2015 09:55

I challenge you to find a woman person who has a bad word to say about him!

AtAt · 13/06/2015 09:55

He is amazing! Cannot wait for Friday. Here's hoping the fact he carried on playing yester, means he will be doing the other gigs. I've seen an xray of his leg doing the rounds, it is well and truly broken!

Spadequeen · 13/06/2015 09:55

Well I think he's a knob.

Only joking, the mans a legend! Hope he's ok for next week

violet1986 · 13/06/2015 09:56

He's also well known for denying that HIV causes aids and for funding a campaign that spreads that lie.... Google it!

mumtoaninja · 13/06/2015 10:23

YANBU. He is indeed a legend. Really hoping, rather selfishly, that he will still play Wembley on Friday, been looking forward to it for months.
Differentnameforthis - your source please! Cannot believe he would ever say such a thing! Quite apart from anything else this would risk public ruin and I am sure he is a far more savvy business man than that!

Samcro · 13/06/2015 10:32

yanbu
I am not a fan, but he is a legend

My apologies, that link isn't accurate.

But he IS an aids denier!

lowcrabdiet · 13/06/2015 10:43

Erm... differentnameforthis you are aware that article is utter made up bollocks right Hmm

lovelychops · 13/06/2015 10:52

Dave Ghrol = the nicest man in rock.

My DP worked with him ages ago and said he's really down to earth

differentnameforthis · 13/06/2015 10:53

Sorry..very red faced apology coming up...that link was sent to me a while ago & I obviously didn't read it properly. I have asked MN to delete it. It was never my intention to mislead with it.

Although, I stand by the rest of my posts.

BishopBrennansArse · 13/06/2015 11:28

That's weird. He's done counter protests against the Westboro Baptist Church - that stuff about 'punishment' doesn't fit with that.

BishopBrennansArse · 13/06/2015 11:30

still love it

LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 13/06/2015 11:53

That's proper rock stars for you! Showing dedication above and beyond!

In 1991 Rob Halford from Judas Priest broke his nose on stage and performed the gig when he had regained consciousness - another legend. Also the first gay heavy metal star to come out (very hard in such a macho environment!)

goodnessgraciousgouda · 13/06/2015 11:57

I think it was great of him to finish the set, but at the same time I'm not sure it was a very sensible thing to do!

He must have been in an awful lot of pain, and whilst it's great that he pushed through it, really he should have put his health first.

Still, its a refreshing change from the likes of "singers" (or I guess "performers" as they're called these days) that turn up hours late, storm off at the drop of a hat and generally have their heads so firmly up their arse it's amazing they haven't died of asphyxiation.

trinitybleu · 13/06/2015 12:16

Legend!
