I cannot stand it when someone is asking about what to use in a certain situation, and people say "... [Such and such] is your friend" argh I hate that!

Or when people describe something as their "go-to" product .

Don't know why but I just hate those phrases! Anyone else ?!

Haven't had time to RTFT so someone has probably had 'making difficult decisions.'

Yes, I am looking at you David Cameron/previous senior manager. I am sure you have considered your decisions carefully but the people who it is REALLY difficult for are the ones you are taking benefits from/the ones you are making redundant. So don't try to steal their pain as well as their livelihoods... Angry

daisychain01 · 10/06/2015 22:15

Misspotty you reminded me of another one to do with politicians.

Why do they say "we need to have a grown up conversation about [such and such an issue]" I mean what other type of conversation were you planning to have? Confused

spongebob5 · 10/06/2015 22:16

Hun
Any management speak - low hanging fruit is a new one for me!
Utilise
Starting a sentence with So...

ephemeralfairy · 10/06/2015 22:18

Ugh, 'gifting'. Also 're-gifting'

People who have lived all their lives in this country suddenly using Americanisms: gift, store, dessert etc.

FantasticButtocks · 10/06/2015 22:20

WTAF does 'low hanging fruit' mean? Shock

FantasticButtocks · 10/06/2015 22:21

'Gifting' bleugh

drivingmisspotty · 10/06/2015 22:21

Daisy To be fair, there doesn't appear to be much grown-up conversation going on during Prime Minister's Questions Smile

FantasticButtocks · 10/06/2015 22:22

People going into cafes and saying 'can I get a cappuccino'

ephemeralfairy · 10/06/2015 22:29

'Low-hanging fruit' always makes me think of udders. Or testicles.

stonelog · 10/06/2015 22:33

Swit-swoo or variations thereof Angry

MojoLite · 10/06/2015 22:34

"She wasn't right.... in herself"

as opposed to?

TheCatsMother99 · 10/06/2015 22:35

'I went to the supermarket and I brought some bananas.' No you didn't, you BOUGHT some fookin bananas

OberonTheHopeful · 10/06/2015 22:44

'low hanging fruit' is idiotic management speak for 'easily achievable targets'.

SqueezyCheeseWeasel · 10/06/2015 22:55

"Low hanging fruit" makes me think of bollocks. In every sense of the word.

Bluepetra · 10/06/2015 23:49

Preggo, preggers, up the duff... Hideous.

gessami · 10/06/2015 23:52

softplay makes me think of soft porn/ foreplay

low hanging fruit definitely sounds like big pendulous balls

and touch base sounds like inappropriate touching

LadyNym · 11/06/2015 10:01

Many that have already been mentioned. Plus:

'It'll be in the last place you look.' Of course it will; I don't generally keep looking for something after I've found it!

'At the end of the day...' Although, that one seems to have gone out of fashion a little.

When people spell 'gorgeous' 'gawjuss'. Why??

ConferencePear · 11/06/2015 10:22

Where did all the colleagues go ? Have all of them been reached by c-workers ?

ConferencePear · 11/06/2015 10:22

Sorry, that should be co-workers.

limitedperiodonly · 11/06/2015 11:10

Gifted instead of given. As in 'this was gifted to me.'

limitedperiodonly · 11/06/2015 11:12

I've just noticed that it annoys other people. As does not reading the thread Wink.

So glad that I'm not alone though.

alteredimages · 11/06/2015 11:21

"At no cost to yourselves"

It makes me shudder.

limitedperiodonly · 11/06/2015 11:48

'I'm a private person'.

'I am a special little snowflake' , more like.

Everyone except the Kardashians has a private life they don't want to share with the whole world.
