Provident

Provident (the loan company) have sent me a letter saying how I can get a loan from them etc.

I've never taken out a payday loan or any other loan in my life, has anyone else received a similar letter from them? Are there any rules about these companies sending out things like this?

I've got half a mind to ring them to complain and get them to remove my details.

Now I've thought about it, where the hell have they got my details from?!

Have you registered with the MPS? Might give you a leg to stand on if/when you complain (I probably would).

Where do any of them get our details from? I just put mine in the compost bin - does my heart good to think that eventually some good compost comes out of their crap!!

I binned it straightaway, it's the first letter I've had like that and now I'm paranoid wondering where they got my details.

I'll look at the MPS.

I wouldn't get paranoid about it. Companies sell lists of names and addresses for this kind of mass mail shot. It will just be from something which you once signed up to/bought/answered where you forgot to tick the box to not be contacted by "carefully selected companies". I'm surprised you've never had a letter like this before.
