I've been known to (( hug )) & xx on here - but I'm quite feminine & girly so that's why I do it. I also lol sometimes ( lol ) but I'm ok with that. I never call anyone hun though.
It doesn't bother me at all when I see other people doing it - I think it's quite nice really - I find swearing common & aggressive so I guess we're all different.

I guess MN and NM are two extremes, and I like to live somewhere in the middle really.

I use both sites have done for years. I don't have a ticker on NetMums and there's the facility to hide everyone else's "sparkly shit" but don't tell anyone else because that would ruin the fun in taking the piss out of another site. A good lot of posters on MN seem to spend a lot of time thinking and creating oh so witty putdowns for NetMums - if I don't like a site I tend not to use it as opposed to wind myself up about it.

I've no doubt they have the same number of threads as and about us.
