Jealous of everyone who managed to make bf work in a wrap sling, as I just couldn't figure it out!

You are right, she was wrong.

Well I wouldn't personally as I wouldn't breast feed. Just not something I'd feel comfortable in doing, but yes if the baby needs feeding. He needs feeding and it's perfectly legal and moral to breastfeed anywhere you need to.
That women is a closed minded idiot with far far too much to say.
And you're a fool to be answering to her. I'd have just gave her that MYOB Glare.
Also If she was telling you not to feed your baby. Then that to me says she advocates a child going hungry.

I bf on the bus (se London too) a lot, I'm the sling, I really don't see any problem with it. I'd just count yourself lucky you'll probably never see Rude Bus Lady again Wink

Of I breastfed when my baby was hungry, on a bus or wherever.

I used to when I got the bus, I would either get glared at for crying baby or glared at for breastfeeding so I chose to breastfeed instead

Depends how bumpy the bus is and if they have teeth yet Wink

It would depend how many stops I was going.

I would breastfeed anywhere- as long as the child had a right to be ther and it was safe.

I have breastfed in church at a funeral, in a plane, buses, libraries, school assembly, parks, museums, swimming pool, shops, cafes. in the street. If anyone has a problem it is their problem, not mine.

I managed to feed dd on buses (even in South London, though I agree the area round Elephant is full of very... odd... people). Trains are comfier though so ds and dd both got fed on those whereas on buses I'd usually get off and sit at the bus stop with more space.

The one time I really wanted to feed ds on a bus and didn't was in a rush-hour traffic jam in the City, I was standing and couldn't even get him out the buggy let alone ask for a seat and get to it (I could only feed with my right elbow sticking out, too), and it took forever to get to the next stop and escape. And no seats at the stop and crowded pavements with no-where to even sit on the ground. Finally found a M&S and leaned back on a display while sitting on the floor. Nice assistant advised that there are always chairs in the lingerie dept, or if I'd like a seat and privacy there's almost always a changing room free.

Actually it was tricky feeding 4mo dd on a motorboat as both of us were wearing lifejackets! And feeding her while running a mentoring session for teenage girls made me pretty self-conscious but given how little sex ed they'd got at their school, the more I could educate them on babies the better!
