back because she was in a car seat. I didn't want to take her out whilst he was driving, although I understand it isn't illegal

Smooshface · 06/06/2015 23:08

woman on bus needs to mind her own damn business

fustybritches · 06/06/2015 23:08

I once caught a bus to Tunbridge Wells. 2 hours each way. I breastfed DD when I got on, she slept until we arrived. Did the same on the way home. Blissful.

MrsHathaway · 06/06/2015 23:16

Yep, I can claim monorail - at Chester Zoo after a fucking half-hour wait in the queue.

LauraMipsum · 06/06/2015 23:18

Yes, I would & I have. Also on the tube, which was the only place I fed where I'd have preferred not to. On a bus you can sort of hide behind the seat in front of you but on the tube there's a row of strangers staring straight at you.

SleeptightDaisy · 06/06/2015 23:31

New ones for me and Dd last week were a tractor trailer and a church pew, love finding new places to breast feed :-)

Frecklefacedgirls · 07/06/2015 00:00

Have fed on buses,trains,planes,ferries
Most unusual vehicle was the bridal car at my brother's wedding. I had to leave the church quickly with my DD when she started to cry during the service and it was raining outside. The chuaffeur offered to let me sit in the back of the bridal car while DD had a feed!

BeCool · 07/06/2015 07:23

I have bf several times on a boat - a small fast water taxi boat.

Also bus, train, tube, plane, ferry.

ninetynineonehundred · 07/06/2015 07:25

I call the London cable car to complete the set

But yes to buses. Trains. Taxis. Cars. Planes and boats.
Basically anywhere to stop them yelling.

Roomba · 07/06/2015 08:41

Yes, why wouldn't I feed a baby when it was hungry?

I'd probably dissuade DS these days though and ask him to wait until we got wherever we were going. Because he tries to hold on with his teeth if we go round bends/over bumps in the road Grin! And he is at an age where he can wait and understand that. Plus, whilst I never ever got a funny look or comment when he was tiny (quite the opposite, forever had people coming up and saying how nice it was to see a baby being BFd), this has changed somewhat now he is almost 3, tall for his age and has a bigger vocabulary than most of the people staring at us and muttering about us...

LilyKiwi · 07/06/2015 08:47

She sounds like a total idiot! Try not to give her the time of day. I wasn't able to breast feed but would certainly have done it on the bus if id of been able to, I've bottle fed on the bus plenty of times.

gofuckyourself · 07/06/2015 09:31

Yes, you can feed where you like. I used too many moons ago. I miss it, I miss how it didn't cost anything and how it was always ready and how my babies always loved it and never refused a feed. Now with 2 teenagers food is expensive, I have to cook it and they can be bloody fussy at times (my daughter not my son as he eats anything & everything).

TattieHowkerz · 07/06/2015 10:11

Yes, I have done.

The only (non) issue which came up was an elderly man asking for a cuddle, and I had to explain I was feeding her, but he could hold her in a minute. I think he was worried that he might have embarrassed me, but he hadn't, and it was fineSmile

kissmethere · 07/06/2015 10:56

Yes if you can manage it. I have with baby in a sling, no one noticed.

MummyPig24 · 07/06/2015 11:13

I have fed on the bus, train and many other places, the best being the floor of the reptile house at London Zoo. If baby needs to eat, they need yo eat.

aprilanne · 07/06/2015 11:37

i have never BF it was never my thing but i believe you should be allowed to where ever you feel the need .just ignore idiots in future

Writerwannabe83 · 07/06/2015 11:39

YANBU

It's not so much an issue now as DS is 14m but when he was younger I would feed him anywhere he needed it.

cotswolds5 · 07/06/2015 12:04

Yes.

agapimou · 07/06/2015 12:29

Babies should be fed whenever and wherever they require it. Just because some people get offended by seeing boobs used for their actual purpose does not mean your little one should go hungry. Ever.

I've taken to squirting milk in the direction of people that get offended by me breastfeeding in public, soon shuts them up Grin

AnImperialAffliction · 07/06/2015 12:31

Yes I would. Done it plenty of times in the past. Hell I bf DD2 walking round Asda doing my shopping (DD1 was at nursery and due picking up so couldn't sit and feed). People just need to get used to it

TheRainInTheWoods · 07/06/2015 12:31

Yes. I fed my babies everywhere.

My personal favourite was in the dentist's chair while having a scale and polish.

Clarella · 07/06/2015 14:40

Absolutely. Good on you for replying so confidently. Smile

Clarella · 07/06/2015 14:42

I think they passed a law in Sao Paola that it was illegal to stop/ restrict a mother from bf anywhere. Not helpful for here, but indicative of how unreasonable it is to tell someone not to feed their baby.

elliejjtiny · 07/06/2015 14:49

I would try and avoid it if possible. partly because of the jolting around. Partly because all my bus journeys are 15 mins max so I'd probably have to get off the bus mid feed.

futforbaby · 07/06/2015 23:24

I feed my baby anywhrer
