Seriously she can't be a good mum giving out messages like "pretty girls jump the line, get what they want, do what they like". What about the less than pretty girls that don't get so much handed out on a plate for them?

Her last song was all about if you want a mazza you've just got to work hard, yes so Anyone on Mon wage can get a lux car just by working hard then?

Such stupid, vapid, awful messages.

I don't think anyone really considers Britney a role model do they?

AyMamita · 01/06/2015 21:49

What?

AyMamita · 01/06/2015 21:50

This post reminds me of being young and gawjus a hundred years ago and never having to queue to get into nightclubs.

Methe · 01/06/2015 21:50

Is she still making music or have we time travelled back to 1996?

fiveacres · 01/06/2015 21:51

I don't think rubbish music and being a good mum have ANYTHING to do with one another!

Runningupthathill82 · 01/06/2015 21:52

I think the lyrics to what I presume is her new song are nothing to do with how Britney Spears is as a parent.
I also think she's done well to come back as successfully as she has after her very public breakdown.

MrsBigginsPieShop · 01/06/2015 21:52

Her latest song/video is meant to be a pisstake of the 'valley girl' lifestyle. It's irony.

TwinkieTwinkle · 01/06/2015 21:52

Going to be honest, I've never considered taking life advice from Britney Spears. It's song lyrics for a pop song. YABU.

Britney Spears? Are you serious? She's hardly one of the great thinkers of our time is she? In fact, she's so irrelevant I doubt most teens or pre-teens have even heard of her!

Runningupthathill82 · 01/06/2015 22:02

Just watched the video. It's clearly a pisstake, as a pp pointed out...

sheldonssoftkitty · 03/06/2015 22:27

She's definitely taking the piss out of the Mean Girl 'plastic' types.

I like it.

Totally.

MrsGentlyBenevolent · 03/06/2015 23:15

It's a piss take song/video. You are being extremely unreasonable questioning her parenting, you do not know her personally, what a nasty thing to assume. I wasn't a fan of Britney about 15 years ago when she first 'emerged', I still don't listen much to her music. However, she does what she does, and I can't see it causing anyone any harm.

MrsTerryPratchett · 04/06/2015 04:18

Has she started writing her own lyrics? Shock

BeCool · 04/06/2015 06:19

You know she didn't really want her bf to hit her one more time don't you?

bobbywash · 04/06/2015 08:28

Actually, whilst you're at this, can you pop back to 1976, and have words with Janis Ian about her song 17!

InstitutionCode · 04/06/2015 08:38

I don't think you're supposed to take her seriously, are you?

But, if anyone did, it is fact that good looking people generally have an easier passage through life and higher earnings. I don't have a problem with my children being told if they want a fancy car they need to work hard, it's what I tell them often.

I have never heard either song BTW, so am responding only to the comments here.

It sadly is a recognised psychological phenomonen called the Halo Effect though. We value beauty so are more pre disposed to favour/indulge them purely because of their beauty. It also ties in to some some stuff whereby pleasing symetry (sp?) & features etc indicated health/fertility and therfore good survival potential when we were evolving.
