To hate banks?

I wondered why I couldn't draw out the £100 that was apparently sitting in my account, I just rang the bank. I have £100 worth of pending transactions. Apparently they have up to 6 months to take payments by debit card. That's this week's money gone and I didn't even know. AngryWine

Were you aware these transactions hadn't gone out of your account?

It's not the bank's fault if a previous transaction has yet to be processed by whoever you paid the money to - the fact that they have put a hold on the money rather than letting you effectively withdraw it twice is pretty efficient, given the cost of overspending. Where is the money destined to end up?

Do you not have 2 balances? A balance of the cash in your account right now. Then a second balance of the cash that is available to spend once the pending monies have gone, this balance will usually be lower?

Do you have food for this week?
