DH, DD16 and DS14 have been jumping on my last nerve alllllll day long today and the time after everyone goes to sleep is when I finally get to relax. DD goes to bed early - she's up early for school and is growing to boot so needs lots of sleep. DS is like me with the insomnia but he has to at least hang out in his room after bedtime, and DH peters out about 10:30 or 11 even though he's on vacation tomorrow. I was sitting on the couch tonight thinking "ROLL ON ELEVEN!" and as soon as DH went to bed the first thing I did was grab some Wine and Cake and basically melted into the sofa listening to the wonderful SILENCE.

Anyone else occasionally think they ought rather to have been a hermit? Grin

I'm like this, but unfortunately, DS 3.10 had other ideas last night. He stayed awake until 8.40. I go to bed at 8.45. DD 7.9 was awake when I went to bed, but at least she'll just read until she drifts off.

My dh doesn't seem to understand why I need at least an hour of quiet after kids are in bed and all jobs done in order to sleep. You just need time to wind down!

Myself and DH have been known to clock watch when it's getting near bedtime for the 3 youngest DC.
We known then just a couple more hours and the two oldest will be in bed fast asleep as well.
