To be cross with Levi's store?

Peppapissinpig · 29/05/2015 15:21

Did a 50 mile round trip to Cambridge last Friday specifically to visit my nearest Levi's store.

Spent £80 on a pair of jeans and wore the for the 1st time today. So waltzed in Sainsbo's and set off every alarm on the shop Blush.
Look at the back of the jeans and see the security tag still attached.

I rang Levi's when I got home to see what could be done only to receive a very uninterested answer from the manager that I'd either need to bring the jeans back in or post them back.

No apology, no offer to recompense, nothing. When I said I'd bring them back but expected mileage and parking, the line was "we don't do that". Outstanding customer service Angry

Yes I suppose I could take them to a local random shop to get tag taken off but

  1. why should I?
  2. what if the jeans are damaged?

Feels like a matter of principle now as was treated so appallingly.

WWYS?

I would speak to head office and demand they at least pay postage both ways and you get a voucher or money back for your inconvenience,
Appalling customer service all round, ok it was obviously a mistake but surely the staff should know that all the items have security tags Hmm
And you should of received an apology at least
Good luck!

I assume they have a FB or Twitter page? I am in retail & don't really like to suggest it but the manager wasn't very helpful.

Those security tags are quite universal, aren't they?
I would be tempted to take the jeans with the receipt to your local highstreet, explain what has happened in Next/M&S/wherever, and see if they will remove it for you. As long as you've got the receipt, it isn't dodgy.
I had to do that when I bought something mail order to wear to a wedding and it arrived with the tag on it...

Yes Spare I know I could that but actually any large clothes store is quite a distance and actually it's more the principle now (rides off into distance on high horse!Grin)

Oh it is defintely annoying! Was it a factory store by any chance?

Peppapissinpig · 29/05/2015 15:49

No main store in Cambridge. Should have taken my cue last Friday when shop assistant kept yawning and looking at her watch!

This happened to me (don't know how I didn't set the shop alarm off as I left). I brought a jumper for my daughter in a French supermarket. I just went into a British shop, showed the receipt and they removed it for me (and we all laughed about it) Can't you do the same in your supermarket where you set off the alarm?

DarthVadersTailor · 29/05/2015 17:15

Tweet them. In nearly every instance where my lot have had a complaint about a company/shop then a tweet usually sorts things out as they respond very quickly.

I wouldn't expect them to pay for your mileage, that demand does seem quite unreasonable to me, however you would think that they could offer much better customer service than that!

TwinkieTwinkle · 29/05/2015 17:40

Would have no issue mentioning the mileage! Might get a voucher or something. If you were to drive back and get them to take the tag off it's an extra fifty miles! 100 in total when you add on the original trip. Not a small amount.

I had this with a leather jacket from Hobbs. It wasn't a dye tag so I got a pair of pliers and took it off myself. It was surprisingly easy to do!

This happened to me (don't know how I didn't set the shop alarm off as I left). This happened to me, too. I called the shop about it and mentioned that no alarm had gone off and was told that they had a "silent alarm" which went off for no reason all the time so the staff always ignored it. Angry I had bought the item at a shop I went to while visiting a friend but I was able to take it to one that was closer to me. From now on I always watch them remove these tags. Pain in the arse, it was.
