AIBU to want a sun lounger where I can sit up straight and also have feet up

They all seem to recline as the foot rest goes up. I want to sit up and read with my feet up. Does one of these chairs exist? For under £30?

It's bad for your posture and blood flow apparently. Although I didn't hang around to find out why.

JoanHickson · 28/05/2015 23:39

I would like one too, with a slight tilted back chair.

Suefla62 · 28/05/2015 23:43

£16.99 in Argos

BackforGood · 29/05/2015 00:05

I so agree with you.
I've often wondered why they don't seem to make them commonly.
It's good for you to have your feet raised, when sitting, I've always been led to believe....

BackforGood · 29/05/2015 00:06

That's more of a sun bed Suefla - I suspect OP wants a higher chair, with arms, just one where you can put your feet up.

snowglobemouse · 29/05/2015 00:20

ooh YABU! I love the way I automatically lie on a lounger- half reclined back and feet up- like a superior hospital bed Smile

TheresACatInMeKitchen · 29/05/2015 00:20

I have ones that are the same as the argos ones and agree they are more sunbeds rather than a lounger, although you can sit up straight with your feet up to read.
But they are quite low to the ground and mine have gone a bit baggy where your arse sits. (dips down a little) you also have to be careful to click it into place properly or they fold up on you!!!

Am also on the lookout for a proper lounger too for my mum so will watch with interest.

iknowimcoming · 29/05/2015 00:25

You need a steamer chair! We have two and they annoy me cos I want to lie down, never satisfied eh?

TakeMeToTheMilk · 29/05/2015 08:13

Good try Sueflo but Backforgood is right, I want to sit up straight at normal chair height and have my feet up. They all used to do this I'm sure and older relatives definitely have them. But bought yonks ago.
I'm pregnant so low to the ground is no good - hurts my back to lower down! And lying right back isn't comfy with a giant belly.
Will look up steamer chair now...

Ahh the wooden ones. Look lovely but not what I'm after

This is better OP. Two for £50.

The pictures show how they recline too.

Pipbin · 29/05/2015 08:31

Or this one www.diy.com/departments/colorado-relaxer/287938_BQ.prd

addictedtosugar · 29/05/2015 08:33

Chair and foot stool is the only way I can think to do it???

TakeMeToTheMilk · 29/05/2015 08:37

Looks like the back support goes back as the foot rest comes up though, don't you think? Also the padded version is preferable for pregnant bones!

OP posts:
TakeMeToTheMilk · 29/05/2015 08:38

Yes the b and q one (Colorado relaxer) is what I want but you can't sit up straight and have your feet up

Pipbin · 29/05/2015 08:39

I see what you mean now about the back going back as the feet go up.
There is was thinking I was being all clever.

ItsTricky · 29/05/2015 08:40

We've got an Ikea Poang and stool, it lives indoors but we use it outside too

TakeMeToTheMilk · 29/05/2015 08:44

This is what I want. It's on eBay second hand. Want a new for a present.

Yup - I'd like one like that too - so you can have your feet up, but still be sitting up to chat or read or eat or drink or whatever....surely the power of MN can find some ?

TheresACatInMeKitchen · 05/06/2015 22:32

The ebay one you linked to OP I think is made/sold by Alfresia.

Available on their website Here

But they are a bit pricey though, £49.99 with free delivery.
Also available on Amazon and Ebay, just search for Alfresia

Will keep searching though as its a bit over budget for my mum!

FlabulousChix · 05/06/2015 22:34

I've an old fashioned type one that does what you want. In fact it's easy to find what you are looking for if you google

TakeMeToTheMilk · 06/06/2015 07:42

Well tracked down TheresACat! Now to source a cheaper one!
